We are thrilled to announce that our design for the Pier 6 Floating Dock and Ferry has won the Good Design Award 2024 of Japan!
We are sooooooooo grateful for the comments from the jury.
"This place fully expresses Hong Kong, a port city. In contrast to the skyscrapers of the city, Hong Kong's unique waterside floats have been restored to create a pleasant atmosphere. Nostalgic but new atmosphere touches people’s hearts. The deliberately designed area with fun graphics makes a new milestone for Hong Kong. We hope that we will see more of this kind of projects in Hong Kong."

About the Ball Bearing Bench
The Ball Bearing Bench is a unique design that draws inspiration from traditional ball bearings. It features solid wooden balls nestled between two donut-shaped wooden pieces. The lower piece remains stationary, while the top piece is designed to move with users, creating captivating sounds during interaction. This design reflects the Studio’s ethos of warmth and curiosity, offering a playful and engaging experience.
The poster showcases our vision to expand the Ball Bearing Bench into a diverse series of sculptures in various sizes, transforming it into public art furniture that can be installed in designated landscapes to engage a broader audience.

This is our work-in-progress Ball Bearing Bench!
The Ball Bearing Bench is inspired by traditional ball bearings, featuring solid wooden balls between two donut-shaped wooden pieces. While the lower piece remains stationary, the top piece moves with users, ideally seated at opposite ends for balance. Initially requiring effort to push, the bench glides smoothly as the balls gain momentum, producing captivating sounds during interaction. The bench embodies the studio’s ethos of warmth and curiosity, offering a playful yet gentle design.
Thank you very much @designboom for featuring us! Link in bio.
