Thanks to everyone who came by the Camera Branch stand at the BSC Expo. What an amazing turnout this year with so much exciting kit to see, so many great conversations were had at the stand and a lot of renewed interest in the branch's rate card and rate card survey too. Remember, if you have not done so already, please check out the rate card on the website (details in bio) and do take part in the survey to help us keep the rate card upto date and accurate. Thanks to BECTU officials Jenny and George for being on our stand and answering all the detailed union questions and being all around lovely people to chat with. Thank you to all our wonderful camera branch volunteers who took the time to hang out on the stand and chat as well as handing out sharpies, lip balm and MINTS!!! Who doesn’t love a good mint!? Keep an eye out for our upcoming meetings in your inbox and especially our Camera Branch Social happening sometime soon which will be a chance for a more relaxed meet up, that is focussed on chatting over a drink with other camera crew about all the important issues and how we can, by working together tackle them. Check out this article in Stage Screen & Radio about the amazing training initiative being built by the newly formed group, 'CineCertified'. CineCertified is made up of volunteer camera crew, including members of the GBCT, GTC, ACO and training reps from within the camera branch all working together to design and install training standards in the UK camera department. They are currently focussed on the role of the camera trainee and in the process of trialling their logbook design.
