My record ‘Loserdom’ is out today. This one took a while to piece together and it’s a bit of a left turn from my last record, so apologies if you preferred the acoustic stuff. I’ve been wanting to make something like this for a long time so I hope you dig it. It would not have been possible without some very talented and dedicated people involved. It’s been a real pleasure to work with Jim @safesuburbanhome and Galen @repeatingcloud on the release. Can’t wait to hit the road with label buds @sumosmusic and @rural_france next week. Enormously grateful to bandmates Conor, Dunc and George who have spent so much time rehearsing, recording and working on these songs over the last couple years. Ben Auld’s ‘Loserdom’ has come around like the greatest of meds for my dopamine thirsty brain because these ripping dueling Thin Lizzy guitars, Grand Prix era Teenage Fanclub, Replacements, Tony Molina power pop bangers with wee picked folk breaks are filling up my cup so high it’s overspilling. A fan of lo-fi, scrappy DIY bands like Guided By Voices, The Replacements and Bill Fox, Auld spent his early twenties learning how to write the perfect 2 minute pop song. Recently announced his second album ‘Loserdom’ accompanied by the first single from the record ‘Red Bandana’ Rural France - Jangle-duo Rural France describe their story as mundane and magical. They have recently announced their fourth album ‘SLOTHS’ accompanied by the first single from the record ‘Lonely Hearts Pyramid Scheme’ Sumos’ - Scuzz-pop quartet from Manchester. Sumos’ sound is built on a foundation of melodic indie rock and noisy power-pop. Recently announcing their upcoming EP ’Luck’, the EP is a collection of six noisy melodic pop songs that will be played while on tour!
