Devin Morrison and John Butcher, two founding members of The Expanders, are our guests on Episode 123 of the History of LA Ska: One On One Sessions hosted by Junor Francis. Beyond his role in The Expanders, Devin has worked with Long Beach Dub Allstars, The Lions, Man Like Devin & The Relatives, and even Hepcat. John has also collaborated with Jr. Thomas & The Volcanos, The Steady 45s, Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra, Brothers of Reggae, and Ryan Thorne & The Ramblers. Since their formation in Los Angeles in 2003, The Expanders have garnered a devout fan base. They have performed at iconic spots like the Bluebeat Lounge and Dub Club, backed up numerous Jamaican music legends, and toured with some of the biggest names in reggae. The facility in Warwick is getting close to GO TIME!! Final construction/trades change orders in action. Buttoning up all loose ends with infrastructure. Commissioning begins this week!! GrowLink will be with us first to commission the brains, and sensors for the facility. Lighting, HVAC, Irrigation, Dehums, CO2, up next!! Stay tuned for updates while check off the boxes towards completion. The Team has been crushing!! Working together, solution driven, establishing the culture necessary for success. I’m very thankful to work alongside leaders like @chad_salute and @iamsouza80 I’ve learned so much from them over the years. Leveling up in my career with Chad and Jacob next to me has been a blessing. Meeting new killers like Rob Smith @frostybison and Ryan Bartell has me feeling good about the leadership of our Cultivation Team. Rob and Ryan have stepped up and helped us finalize our irrigation set ups in Bloom, and Veg/Mom & Prop, organize and build some of our infrastructure, as well as onboarding our Cultivation Staff! They are leading by example and instilling confidence and culture. Thankful to have them on the Team.
