One evening last week, @division.32 & @kompan.us brought our Emerging Professionals — landscape architects & designers in the first few years of their careers — together for a spring social. Join us for a special tour: Inside/Out: Boston Food Forests Saturday, October 4 11am - 2pm In person. "At the intersection of green space equity and climate resilience," the Boston Food Forest Coalition is "a coalition of neighbors working to transform vacant lots into locally-run, edible, public parks." There are now 13 urban food forests in Boston, and they just broke ground on the 14th -- growing at a rapid pace toward a goal of 30 by 2030. We will meet at Ellington Street Community Food Forest, and then caravan to Maple Street Food Forest. We will hope to make it to Uphams Corner Food Forest, too. This tour is organized by April Maly, ASLA, Senior Landscape Construction Manager, Boston Food Forest Coalition + co-Chair of the BSLA Plant Sourcing Task Force and will be led by Liz Luc Clowes, ASLA, Engagement & Construction Director, Boston Food Forest Coalition also BSLA Emerging Professional and recent BSLA Member-at-Large The Emerging Professionals invite all to join.
