Celebrating 2026 promotions! Our newest Associate, Zoë Holland, shares a few thoughts on her current projects.
Zoë: I’m pictured here in the muddy intertidal zone of Casco Bay, the site of a former baked bean factory that will soon host a public waterfront campus and bike trail. After nearly four years of work on this project, I’m excited to see construction progress this summer and fall. Further south in the Narragansett Bay, I’m managing the last stretch of construction documents for a riverfront park in the center of downtown Providence.
Celebrating 2026 promotions! Our new Senior Associates share a few thoughts on their current projects and the upcoming year.
Jess Alpert: This spring, I am looking forward to seeing the projects I have managed over the past few years take shape. Among them is an innovative project at Amherst College—the new Student Center and Dining Commons—designed by Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with Sasaki. In addition, a farmhouse residence in New York with Barlis Wedlick Architects is under construction. Watching both of these sites come to life will be a highlight of my summer and fall. Megan Little: These days I’m working on institutional and residential projects, but I’m especially excited about one residential project’s elaborate water features and lush perennial plantings (inspired by an antique stained-glass window found in the old house). This has taken me on some fun adventures, from tagging 40-year-old Ilex opaca in Pennsylvania to figuring out how to move 150 koi across the country. I’m also leading our office’s mentorship program, which has been a really rewarding way to connect with and support colleagues.
Heather Harris: I am currently focused on a select range of residential projects, allowing for a thoughtful approach to craft and detail. Much of my time has been in the studio, which has been rewarding, while several projects are now moving into construction, with completion anticipated later this year and into next. I value the diversity of work at STIMSON and the collaborative spirit of our teams, where shared expertise and consistent support strengthen both our process and outcomes.

Gregory Tuzzolo: I’m excited to advance several major project efforts at STIMSON. Our team will complete final construction documents for the Providence Riverwalk Resilience project—an ambitious reimagining of a cherished civic waterfront. I’ll also be leading early design work for new healthcare, higher education, and museum projects across New England, while supporting ongoing construction at Harvard’s Pritzker Hall and Northeastern University’s Roux Institute campus in Portland, Maine. I’m honored to step into this role and to continue contributing to STIMSON’s leadership and design culture. Each project presents an opportunity not only for personal and professional growth but to thoughtfully shape the integrity and resilience of our shared built environment.
Michael Lindquist: I’m currently managing a range of projects, including the Salem Pioneer Village, Harvard’s A.R.T. in Allston, Hamilton College’s Innovation Center, and a residence on the North Shore. I’ve also been focused on planting design and horticulture education initiatives within the office and am designing large-scale planting plans for the Brown’s ILSB and the Providence River Walk. With spring approaching, I’m looking forward to construction picking up and to new projects starting, such as the Larz Anderson Park ice rink renovation and a science center for Colby College.
Matt Langan: In 2026, two long-advancing public realm projects will move into construction, representing more than $50 million in landscape rehabilitation. Seeing these efforts take physical shape will be deeply rewarding. I’m proud of our team’s dedication throughout the process and look forward to new opportunities to apply our rigor and values to civic, recreational, and cultural spaces—strengthening the communities they serve for generations to come.

How we share our lives with birds and the natural world is at the forefront of so much of our work these days. We appreciate the genius of @ilaria_puripurini for highlighting the ongoing connections between landscape, architecture, art, ecology, archeology, politics and so many other disciplines in this overlapping exhibition and much needed discourse.

As of March 22, 56 taps and 533g of sap collected. 10.45g of syrup produced. Boiling again today.
Big thanks to my dad who shared his 50 years of sugaring knowledge with us, our generous neighbor who parted with her shack and watched us haul it up the road (genius @ethantetreault1989 ), our farm manager @leland.q who always takes things to the next level with his anticipation (and strength to haul over 20g across a hayfield in 3’ of snow), our crew who have been coming up to the sugar shack for charrettes, and clients who think we are a little bit nuts but are willing to go with our flow. Because you can’t really stop once you start the season.

A sign of change to see wilder landscapes emerging at a slow and steady pace across our university landscapes. And a big thanks to @harvardmagazine for highlighting our work with @behnischarchitekten at the Harvard Science and Engineering Complex. An honest description of this “natural, unnatural landscape” that blends ecology and infrastructure for the current campus community and the changing climate of our future.

STIMSON Holiday Gathering 2025 @charbrookfarm pulled out all the stops this year – an oyster bar, ‘landscape’ buffet, and plenty of delicious food! We’re thankful for the wonderful year we’ve had, and we wish everyone a joyful holiday season and a bright year ahead.

STIMSON is excited to welcome artist, Maureen McCabe, Professor Emeritus of Art, Connecticut College, into the Grange Hall at Charbrook Farm as the first talk of the year 2026. First and foremost, GO NOW to see her phenomenal retrospective Fate and Magic: The Art of Maureen McCabe, at the University of Connecticut’s William Benton Museum of Art through December 14th (this weekend!). This exhibition presents rarely seen works from her studio and private collections alongside the objects that have inspired her through themes of folklore, literature, spiritualism and myth. Her work is inquisitive and historical, humorous and emotional, twisted and simply brilliant.

At a time when our profession remains so deeply grounded in art and science, we recognize the need to go beyond and embrace the unexplained and the unexpected. It is an honor to share space with a feminist artist whose process of making her art feels so connected to our own way of giving voice to the land. We find inspiration in the magic of Maureen McCabe.
