Palestinian food in Brum, top eat of 26! Save for your visit to @alfred_works It's rare that a dish is 10/10, let alone the 20/10 I would give the Musakhan from @baity.uk 🤤 The chicken was cooked to utter perfection with beautiful flavours coming through from the confit sumac onions, toasted nuts, minted cucumber laban, and taboon bread. A beautiful medley of flavours and textures. If you only try one dish at the food hall, then this is it! Other dishes include a veggie musakhan, falafel, hot honey halloumi, shawarma, slow roasted lamb, and more! There is something for everyone including vegetarians and vegans. I have not stopped thinking about this dish since I had it, you will not regret eating it! 😍 📍Alfred Works, The Custard Factory, 13a Gibb St, Deritend, Birmingham B9 4DJ 🕑 8am-10.30pm 🚗 Car Parks: Trinity Street Car Park, B9 4AL North Yard Car Park, B5 5ST Follow @brum.eats for anonymous, honest reviews including hidden gems and unique eats

Birmingham's first restaurant serving Uyghur Cuisine! SAVE this must try! @gulnarnoodles 📍50 Pinfold Street, B2 4AY I discovered that we had a new Uyghur restaurant open in Birmingham and had to rush to try it out! We had the chilli oil spill noodles with beef (£11.90), Silk Road lamb dumplings (£9) and the garlic smashed cucumber (£4.90). My partner in dine also had the lemon tea (£2.80) The portions were large and the taste was delicious! Lovely subtle flavours with a nice little kick from the chilli oil. The lamb dumplings were indeed silky and so moreish 🤤 we left absolutely stuffed and content - not a crumb was left! 👌🏼 I'd recommend breaking up the beef into smaller pieces and mixing it well with the broth and noodles for the best flavour experience 😋 I can't wait to go back here, an absolutely amazing addition to the halal food scene! 🙌🏼 Follow @brum.eats for anonymous, honest reviews including hidden gems and unique eats

Desi breakfast - homemade taste & good prices! Save for your next fix! Why am I not seeing more people talking about how good @vivacebirmingham is? Swipe through to see the food and beautiful interior! I've visited a few times now and really enjoyed it each time. The desi breakfast (£9.99) tasted just like a homemade one - all elements were very nicely spiced, no frozen paratha in sight, and so filling that I struggled to finish the food. I wish the salad was cut fresh to order - you can tell it is prepped in advance and then served with orders. My friend had a toastie that she enjoyed, and again, it was a very generous portion! The fresh orange juice (£4.99) and coffee (Americano, £3.49) were both good! As if that wasn't enough, I finally found a place with quality gelato (I think it was £3.70 for a scoop in tub). I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu and the cakes! They seem to have changing offers, so keep an eye on their socials and make your trip even more pocket friendly! Have you been here? Limited time pop-up! Save these delicious goodies to try on your next trip to town! All of my fellow gluten free people know how terrible gluten free food can be. @borough22doughnuts has somehow come up with doughnuts that taste just like regular ones! I picked up a yum yum (£5.49) on my first visit and didn't get more as I wasn't sure how good it could be (haunting memories of cardboard like items I've eaten over the years). I loved it! I went back and picked up a custard filled doughnut (£4.99) - it had been so long since I last had a good doughnut and it was amazing to have one that not only tasted great but was suitable for gluten free, halal, kosher and vegan diets! The custard doughnut was mum approved, whose first comment was, "it tastes just like a normal one!" They are a little on the pricier side, but considering the yum yum was large enough for 2 to share, I think it was reasonably priced (and we all know it's not cheap nor easy for a small biz to have a pop up in Selfridges). I would much rather spend £5 here than an awful supermarket version. Anyone who has had to eliminate gluten from their diet knows it's the simple pleasures that are missed - buttered toast, sandwiches, a doughnut! I'm so glad that businesses like Borough22 are catering for those with dietary restrictions and not compromising on taste 🙌🏼 The pop-up is only here in Selfridges Food Hall until 4th January, though I really hope they have a more permanent setup soon 🙏🏼 Follow @brum.eats for anonymous, honest reviews, including hidden gems and unique eats!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

This cafe oozes autumnal elegance. Save for a special treat! I visited @cake.and.culture when it first opened and fell in love with the luxurious interior! The chocolates are SO good, and I'd happily purchase them for a little indulgence. I've tried nearly all of the flavours, and none of them disappointed. The cakes were melt in the mouth, however, they paled in comparison to the chocolate. We enjoyed our drinks, and the service was warm and friendly! We thought this was a beautiful location for taking pictures (rishta/LinkedIn/Socials - whatever floats your boat!) This was a treat from a friend, so there are no prices to share on this occasion. Get your adeni/karak fix in Selfridges! @halawaatuk Halawaat has the cutest new addition in Selfridges on the 3rd floor. A cart offering a variety of biscuits and mammoul, including a gluten-free option (I was told there is risk of cross contamination, though). I picked up a mint tea (£3) and a variety of biscuits - all very reasonably priced! Caramel, hazelnut, and pistachio shortbread biscuits (£1/£1.10 each) were my choice 😋 Hot chocolates and mocha's are also available in various flavours. You can still pick up your cakes from the food hall downstairs, but I loved the idea of mooching around the makeup with a hot drink and a treat!

£15 for 2! 🤯 Save this super cheap eat! @yumyumgrill2024 Yes, you can still find cheap eats even with the crazy price of food nowadays. We were on a budget and seeking a cheap eat... we chose this place randomly and could not complain at this price point. I had the mixed shawarma with rice, salad, and naan for £8 - with soup and tea, too! We were served complimentary soup right away, and our food arrived quickly after ordering. Portions were very generous, and I took some of my plate of food home. The naan was super soft even when cold at the end of the meal! We finished off with some complimentary tea (it is already sweetened). It's simple, filling, clean food - exactly what I wanted. Yum Yum grill also serves the usual mix of grilled items you'd expect to see - kebabs, wings, chicken tikka, etc. There is seating, but it gets full very quickly and is quite compact. As always, God help you find parking on Coventry Road 😂 Follow @brum.eats for anonymous, honest reviews, including hidden gems and unique eats!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 📍318 Coventry Road 🕙 9am - 10.30pm (according to Google, but 9am seems early?) Save this new halal cafe for your next brunch date! 💗 @benk_cafe First impressions were a diverse, well priced menu with lovely service from staff. The interior of the cafe is gorgeous and really pleasing to the eye. I loved the calm, serene vibe of the cafe. We were also fortunate enough to get parking across the road - usually the impossible on Coventry road! 😂🙌🏼 I ordered Turkish eggs (£9.90), a flat white (£3.25), and Golden Zing juice (£4.95). The Turkish eggs were underseasoned for the amount of yoghurt served, but I was quickly provided with some salt on request. Once I added (a lot) more salt, the flavours in the butter were really nice and just right if you want subtle flavours - exactly what I wanted for my first meal of the day. My friend wanted even more flavour, so this one comes down to personal preferences. My flat white was bordering on cappucino with an odd gritty texture, and the latte art wasn't the best. However, I could just about ascertain that the coffee itself was decent. The fresh juice I ordered was delicious, a lovely mix of orange, carrot, and ginger 😋 Prices are very reasonable, and there's a wide range of breakfast and lunch dishes to choose from. The French toast looks pretty good, and pastries are provided by @chloegourmet Whilst I think some small refinements would be good, I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Turkish cuisine in an opulent setting @thesheeshbirmingham ▪️Pistachio Hummus, £4.95 ▪️Adana Sheesh, £16.95 ▪️Chicken sheesh, £16.95 ▪️Turkish bread, dips, salad, and tea - all complimentary Hagley Road already spoils us with some top-tier Persian food, so when Turkish restaurant Sheesh opened up, I had it on my radar... would it stand up against the quality cuisine within its vicinity? The meal started strong with 2 types of delicious, warm Turkish breads served with super flavoursome dips. The salad was refreshing and zingy with pomegranate molasses - nothing to fault! I had to try the pistachio hummus, and it was full of pistachio, not just a sprinkling on top! I declined the additional bread served with the hummus as the danger in Turkish restaurants is to fill up on bread before your mains 😅 Whilst all the side dishes were lovely, I found the Adana Sheesh didn't meet my expectations. It lacked somewhat in flavour, and I was not a fan of the coarse texture. The chicken sheesh was a lot more enjoyable in comparison. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with some good food that was very generously portioned. However, I feel improvement is needed with the adana to be on par with some of the well established Turkish restaurants we already have in the city. 📍201A Hagley Road, B16 9TR 🕛 Monday-Sunday 12-11pm 🍽 Halal.
