New Farmer appears to be a collection of documentary photographs published by an agribusiness in the 1960s to celebrate the success of the Green Revolution: genetic manipulation results in new crop varieties which result in bigger and better harvests. As the story unfolds however, there are cracks. The images hover just slightly beyond believability until finally turning absurd.

We are thrilled to announce the 2026 Foam Talent selection, representing the new wave of image-makers shaping the future of photography.
For this edition 30 artists have been selected from nearly 3,000 submissions across 107 countries, showing a remarkable range of narratives, perspectives, and artistic approaches.
We’ve expanded the Foam Talent platform to include a wider spectrum of emerging artists from across the globe. Alongside the 15 artists that are selected for the full Foam Talent 2026 programme, an additional 15 emerging artists will be recognised under a newly introduced category: Foam Talent Runners-up. Together, these 30 artists point towards new directions in photography.
The Foam Talents will be presented across multiple Foam platforms, including Foam Magazine and an exhibition at Foam’s museum from 6 June until 26 August 2026.

«New Farmer» es presenta com una col·lecció de fotografies documentals dels anys seixanta que aparentment celebren els èxits de la Revolució Verda: un període d’augment de la producció de cereals gràcies a noves tecnologies agrícoles. Però a mesura que avança la narrativa, les imatges comencen a desafiar l’espectador, movent-se més enllà del que és creïble fins a tornar-se absurdes. L’obra qüestiona la narrativa dominant del progrés tecnològic i explora la nostra relació extractiva amb la natura, així com la manera com es construeix i es percep la història a través de les imatges.

Catherine Dufour, née en 1966, est une autrice française de science-fiction. Elle se fait connaître avec son roman Le Goût de l’immortalité, récompensé par le Grand Prix de l’imaginaire. Catherine Dufour écrit aussi des nouvelles et des essais féministes, mêlant anticipation et critique sociale. Son style allie ironie, humanisme et regard acéré sur la condition contemporaine.
