Ahead of @onenewzealandstadium opening, we’ve been working with @onenewzealandofficial to build excitement, anticipation, storytelling and connection across Canterbury and Aotearoa. A big part of that’s been bringing in some great people to make the stadium feel real, early - not just something to go to, but a moment to be part of. We’ve loved working with @chrisparker11 , @patrickgowernz , @lucyblakiston , @brodiejeankane , @lanasearle , @storybites._ and more - each bringing their own take, their own people, and their own energy this huge moment in Christchurch’s history. See you there, Ōtautahi 💚

Partnerships don’t just happen – they’re built with purpose, intent, when the timing finally works, and making each side stronger. And we just nailed a big one for the arts. We’re proud to have helped connect @theartsnz with @hummingbirdcoffee as their new Principal Partner. At a time when the creative sector is under real pressure, this partnership is grounded in shared values and a genuine commitment to supporting artists across Aotearoa – not just in words (or beans), but in action. Backing creativity. Backing artists. Backing Aotearoa.

Proud… but just getting started! As B Corp Month wraps up, we’re reflecting on what it really means to use business as a ‘force for good’. We’ve been a B Corp for 12 years and are proud of how far we’ve come, but this is just the beginning. B Corp keeps us accountable, pushes us to grow our impact, and challenges us to do better – every.single.day. Being a good influence is core to Brown Bread. From green transport and unlimited paid leave, to how we design and run events – we’re always looking for ways to do better. Fresh from the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards, it felt so good to deliver that kaupapa alongside our fellow B Corps @kiwibanknz , @collectivenz , @drinkalmighty , @sawmillbrewery and @augusto_nz 💚 Proud of the progress. Excited for what’s next.

Big moment for Ōtautahi. We’ve loved working alongside the team at @onenewzealandofficial to help build momentum - locally and nationally - around the opening of @onenewzealandstadium It’s more than a launch or an opening. It’s a marker of where Christchurch is at right now, and where it’s heading. Proud to play our part in bringing that energy to life. More to come…

Our long term client @objectspace opened ‘Engrained’ by @martinogamper over the last few nights. Firstly - a preview for our great supporters with wine by sister company, @blackestate (along with some killer negronies and @cazador_akl bringing some incredible kai). Then tonight, one of the more dramatic openings with a weather bomb not deterring many. A full, full house! Five years of kōrero and a truck load of generosity brought one of the world’s great designers to Tāmaki. Here’s to connections and great collective effort to making beautiful and important things happen. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏

An unprecedented feeling of freedom and aroha. We don’t take for granted that we get to do this work, especially in a world that can feel increasingly disconnected. As Sir Rod Drury said, now is the time for action. To show what it means to be from Aotearoa. To turn our values into action. Massive shoutout to the Brown Bread team for creating space so beautifully for this kaupapa. And a huge thank you to @kiwibanknz for trusting us with the @nzeroftheyear Gala and Awards programme for the 6th year. Always an honour

It’s Mad March, so beware of some exceptional content coming out of the BB files this month 👊. We’ve been on the road with anchor client, @theartsnz , spreading the gospel on backing NZ’s great artists…. with…..🥁 Aotearoa’s great artists! First 5 photos - our hot line up in Queenstown Tāhuna! (Dame Jane Campion, Ana Scotney, @seraphinepick and @victorrodger ). Snap 5? The remarkable Nina Nawalowalo (2021 AF Laureate) at the Beehive telling her story of unwritten NZ stories (check out All In For Arts podcast on Spotify), and to finish - where we started - Ōtautahi with a kōrero between 2014 New Generation awardee, @anapelapolataivao 🌸(now famously known as Tīna) and our hilarious 2012 Laureate, Tony de Lautour. We pause for breath this week (you’ll see why), and head out to bedazzle 3 more cities next week! (Please note we also hit Dunedin with Lloyd Jones… he’s in there somewhere and his 5 minute podcast also worth a listen)!

Heading into today, we wanted to share this taonga from @riki_consultancy , written by long-time BB friend and kaiako, Janelle Riki-Waaka. Working alongside Janelle and her team over the years has shaped how we listen, learn and show up as a Tiriti-honouring business in Aotearoa. If you’ve ever felt the paralysis, the uncertainty, or the “where do I even start?” – this one’s for you.   Read the full article on our website, link in our bio.
