Who ever said nothing good ever happens after midnight hasn’t experienced a matcha at midnight. This mix invites you to do just that. Follow the wafts of oud and tobacco and descend into a lounge of soft lighting, ottomans, watercolour paints & murmurs of imagined conversation. Sip your matcha and let creativity blossom as the full moon light beams in.
How does this mix differ to what we’d usually hear from you?
This mix leans more into the whimsical than usual, brimming with soft drum-machine textures, ambient and experimental jazz, lounge, r&b and a worldly flavour from near and far.

Our Walk the Talk series is back and this time, we caught up with Huw Bennett, founder of @worktones .
Huw’s career in fashion spans years, including co-founding Australian streetwear label Vanishing Elephant. After picking up the odd hospitality gig with the likes of Gelato Messina and Bills, the idea of crafting purpose-built hospitality wear started to take shape. It became something more when Tasmania’s renowned Pumphouse Point asked him to design their staff uniforms. A moment that helped shaped what Worktones is today.
Worktones creates workwear for the detail-obsessed hospitality crowd. Those who know that what their team wears is just as important as the space they serve in. As Huw puts it, if you’re investing in a La Marzocco for your café, Worktones is the kind of considered brand that belongs alongside it.

Where do you envision the listener ‘take a moment’ to consume this mix?
Think.. it’s a Friday.. you’ve clocked off work early.. you hop in the whip and you get a text from the homies… “beach, sunset?”. This mix takes you from golden hour to pink skies, as you cruise to your destination.
How does it differ to what we’d usually hear from you?
I really leaned into the visual prompt I gave myself when collating this mix. It was fun approaching it with matcha in mind and its energetic but calm boost.
