Today is my 30th birthday. In keeping with tradition Iām releasing new music with stunning cover art by the ever inspired and wonderful @nat_decker__ Thank you to everyone who has been on this lifeās journey with me. Some people, places, and things of 2025 - Thank you to all the people who made my year so special. I wish I could fit all of you in one post lol. Iām grateful I get to navigate 2026 with you all by my side. Letās make it a better, kinder world together <3
Angel Dressed in Fire is out everywhere now.
This is a difficult song in terms of subject matter. On February 24th 2024, Aaron Bushnell martyred himself in protest of the still ongoing genocide being committed in Gaza. His final words were āFree Palestineā I sobbed when I heard him say those words with such conviction, I am crying now thinking of what has been done in the last year and change since he has gone. Today is my 29th birthday, Aaron was 25 years old, and many Palestinians only live a fraction of that time. This song is my reflection on what it means to be a witness to something unspeakable, and a tribute to someone who bravely testified in front of the world. That being said, I hope your day is beautiful and we all have time to reflect on what has happened and what steps we need to take to build a better, kinder world.
Thank you to @shereendreams for the always amazing artwork, this piece is the perfect fit for this song.
Thank you to @scone.world for contributing drums and percussion, it truly accentuates the point Iām making here.
And thank you to @tomkendallmusic for always mastering my music with care, my music shines through your work.
What a year⦠Spent 104 days on the road. I canāt even begin to express how I feel about it all. I learned a lot and have infinite gratitude for the people who put their trust in me as a musician and a friend. Here are a few choice shots collected from this year, if youāre in or around any of these photos or videos, you have my love and thanks.
Happy 30th Birthday to my big brother Kainalu Reynold Brossus. Kai, youāve taught me more than anyone Iāve known about patience, empathy, and joy. My life has been made so much richer because of you, and I hope you have a big bowl of mint n chip ice cream to celebrate the entering into a new decade of life. Love you bro š
New tune āA Message From the Heartā will be out April 18th.
Really excited to share the music Iāve been working on since the start of 2024. My goals this year are very straightforward: Make art purposefully, casually, and be prolific. I think this new body of work Iāve been crafting honestly reflects these goals. Iām also so so so stoked that the very talented @shereenmoustafastudio made an original piece for the record cover, they are amazing and you all should check them out! Also shout out to my brother @tomkendallmusic for always making my music blossom with his mastering. Anyways, Iāll talk to you more about it when itās out. Peace and light <333
Moments from Babehoven Fall 2023 Touring.
I donāt think there are enough words to express how much I loved touring with @babehoven this Fall. These pictures depict joyful moments from the last two months that I want to remember. Saw many old friends and made some new ones that I will cherish for a lifetime. Wasnāt all a cake walk, life never is, but I know many of us have been dealing with the profound sorrow blanketing the world right now. It was tough to stomach being on the road working to entertain people for a living while so many people are under the boot or at the end of a gun barrel. But after all of it Iāve learned that despair is never an option. I feel my spirit renewed and now that I am home I am going to spend time and energy making art and contributing to the liberation and uplifting of the people of oppressed nations (including the people here). Thanks to everyone who was part of the journey the last few months, you are most certainly loved and appreciated. And as always, Solidarity Forever.
āTwo Wheel Songsā will be released next Friday 08.04.23
Long Boring Story:
These two songs have been sitting on a drive for far too long as part of a scrapped 4 part EP cycle that was tentatively titled āSongs in Service to the Wheelā. Life got in the way and it didnāt really have the connective tissue for me to release it and be proud of it. However two songs āChainsā and āThe House of Dustā were tunes I actually enjoyed making/playing. So Iām sharing with everyone, in all their funky and not quite polished glory. Iām glad Iāve come so far since then, and Iām stoked to put this chapter of music to bed lol. The stunning original album artwork is by my man @mnpreite and everything else is by me. ttyl ;)
āBrother, Iā is now available everywhere.
There are so many things I could say in plain words about how much I adore Michael and Diego. Instead I wrote this song that played a part in their greater piece āstill hereā, and I think that testament to friendship will last longer. If you want to watch this film, you will have to contact @rock4light as it is only being released in a limited run of DVDs, so donāt miss out on your chance to experience this story. Thank you once again to @tomkendallmusic for mastering and @shmellington for drumming as well as album layout. Anyhow, have a lovely day and enjoy all the art and music that is abundant and radiant in the world!
New single āBrother, Iā from the film āstill hereā will be on Bandcamp July 7th and streaming July 14th.
A little over a year ago my great friend @rock4light came over to my house for a nice morning hang. We were talking about each others creative endeavors and he told me he was trying to get back into making short films. He had already settled on the idea of making a short quasi-documentary centered around the life of our dear friend @ottosavedme Naturally I asked if he had any ideas about scoring or soundtracking, and promptly offered to write an original piece for the film. I hoped to make music that would both compliment the tone that Diego was going for, and also embody the great love I have for Michael. I wrote this song in 10 minutes and recorded it in an afternoon. Thank you Diego for giving me the opportunity to collaborate in your work and be part of your vision. Thank you @shmellington for your excellent drum performance and for being just generally stoked. Thank you @tomkendallmusic for mastering this track and being a friend and mentor through everything. And thank you Michael for being a muse, a friend, and still here. The film āstill hereā will be screening at @vientoyaguacoffeehouse on July 7th at 7PM, it will only be having a limited DVD release so if you want to see it, be there.
