The World Design Capital is an extensive cultural happening assigned every two years to a city or region by the @worlddesignorg , a "globally recognized non-governmental organization that aims to promote and advance the discipline of industrial design and its power to enhance economic, social, cultural and environmental quality of life". This year, the award goes to the city of Frankfurt/Main an the Syndicate is part of it! We are thrilled to participate in this beautiful initiative under the motto "Design for democracy. Wir sind beim #musikmonatmai dabei! Zusammen mit dem Kollektiv für zeitgenössische Musik @broken_frames_syndicate machen wir einen queer-feministischen Konzertworkshop. Schüler*innen können sich hier mit dem Sexismus in der Musikbranche auseinandersetzen und ist live bei einer Musikprobe dabei. Wir freuen uns und sind schon sehr gespannt! Beim MusikMonatMai haben sich die Mu­sik­in­sti­tu­tio­nen Frank­furts ge­mein­sam mit der Stif­tung der Frank­fur­ter Spar­kas­se und der Spar­kas­sen-Kul­tur­stif­tung Hes­sen-Thü­rin­gen dem Ziel ver­schrie­ben, je­dem Kind ein jähr­li­ches Mu­sik­erleb­nis zu er­mög­li­chen – LIVE! Frank­fur­ter Schü­ler*in­nen al­ler Jahr­gangs­stu­fen sind deshalb ein­ge­la­den, im Rah­men des 20. Mu­sik Mo­nat Mai! Mu­sik zu er­le­ben und selbst mu­si­ka­lisch ak­tiv zu wer­den. Heute! MISFITS‘ GAZE – THEIRstory @wdc2026 #1 – (Aus)Abgrenzung ••• „MISFITS’ GAZE | THEIRstory” is an interdisciplinary, queer-feminist concert series by the Broken Frames Syndicate. The interdisciplinary team combines concept-driven events featuring curated music programs with research and educational outreach. The first of 4 event presents two works by composer Julia Mihály that engage with themes of displacement, Europe’s external borders, and asylum policy. Featured are the installation work “Oh, das Universum, denken sie” as well as the new staged piece “Ein Glas Wasser.” Created in collaboration with author Sina Ahlers and musicians from the Broken Frames Syndicate, the work addresses European asylum policy and the situation in refugee camps. Engaging in dialogue with our audience is important to us, especially with a topic like this.
