What does the future of design in Uganda look like? It’s already taking shape at SASA College of Industrial Design.
As the country’s first and only industrial design school, the college is leading a multi-phase national design strategy focused on economic and social development, while also strengthening Uganda’s academic and institutional design landscape for future generations. The initiative is being spearheaded by Dr. Kenneth Ssemwogerere, with support from WDO Regional Advisor Jorge Gomez Abrams.
During his recent visit, classrooms, maker communities and local innovators showcased the incredible creativity, resilience, and talent already thriving across the country, and the growing role design can play in unlocking new opportunities for the future.

Ten days, four cities, more than one-hundred venues. The Open – Design Week Frankfurt RheinMain 2026 is just around the corner!
From 5 to 14 June, the entire Frankfurt RheinMain region will be transformed into one interconnected design experience.
