I cannot fully express how much I love this play. How much I love this character. How much I love being in a room full of incredible women. Sometimes art and life collide in such a beautiful way, and this is one of those moments. I’m a lucky girl. Alien Girls @theoldglobe Running until May 10th Written by @amyrberryman Directed by @jakibradley (Amazing production shots by @richsoublet2 !!)

This may still be one of my favorite pics I’ve ever taken of my best friend. Our first trip together, in London. A perfect encapsulation of the way she looks at those she loves. Heart open, soul ready to hold what needs to be held You are my sister. Forever. We are all so lucky to know you today and every day. Happy birthday to the beautiful fiery witchy gremlin that is @meredithgarretson I ADORE YOU

Feeling loved on this birthday Lucky to spend it with my parents for the first time in years Lucky to spend it rehearsing a show I care deeply about Lucky to be loved by people I admire and respect and hold in the highest of esteem and awe Lucky that every year I feel closer and closer to Little Britt, the silliest gremlin out there, and that brings me immense IMMENSE joy 💕💕💕

I fell in love for the 1st time And the 2nd time In Minneapolis (I had my heart broken for the 1st and 2nd time too.) I let my relaxed hair grow out And decided to go natural I felt like a failure and success as an actor Read a review that leveled me That led me to quit music theatre That led me to apply to grad school- An experience that changed my life. It was the first time I'd worked with So many Black artists First time having a Black director. I got my Equity card there After doing school tours, Sitting in the back of a van during an ice storm Feeling the wind move the car from side to side, Thinking (Fearing) I'm not in AZ anymore. I moved to Mpls during a blizzard, Lived with a woman whom I'd never met before Who gave me a space away from home. I lived in theatre housing, new friends' extra rooms, basements of friends of friends. I learned how to be an artist. I met incredible women Strong Funny Tender Open-hearted Midwest women That taught me the meaning of sisterhood- And sisterhood has saved me From that time forward Again and again. I've laughed and cried in so many rooms On so many street corners In so many karaoke bars And gay bars And theatre bars. And now. I have a pain in my chest That mimics the one first felt During those first heartbreaks. It seems only fitting for NYC to be as icy as it is right now To be reminded of the first time I stepped into that house in Mpls To escape a winter blizzard. A storm is now brewing. I can't help but be shaken by the terror Havocking those beautiful streets and people that shaped me. But I also can't help but notice the community. I can't help but find a kind of solace In those who have come to the aid of neighbors. And in Minneapolis it feels like everyone is your neighbor. A city forged in resilience. People who recognize the resonance from 5 years ago Have come together yet again Have learned to gather, to witness, to attest To be the record-keepers The loggers for our history. To remember when others choose to forget. And I hope I ask That you all can stand up for our neighbors just down the way Witness the community building Send resources Share their stories

From our brilliant writer @jameswebsterstull : “I wrote my utopias over the past few years while considering the demand of reordering society- its promise and peril. The play takes seriously the idea that theater can enact the kind of culture we want to build, not merely reflect it. Perhaps because of that, my utopias is also a potluck, and you are welcome to bring a homemade dish to share in lieu of purchasing a ticket.” Eat with us. Commune with us. Very lucky to be in this room.

What’s better than being directed by a woman? Being directed by TWO WOMEN. And such kind, talented, intelligent women at that! Congrats @lucypwrs and @delilah_constanza , this entire filmmaking team and cast. This was such a blast to work on. We made a movie! Hi @woodstockfilmfestival ! 👋🏾👋🏾

Late to posting this, but that is not an indicator of my LOVE for this book. Even if I wasn’t so fortunate to get to narrate this, I would still have read it by choice. Go read/listen/absorb EVERYTHING from Megan Giddings (@newwavehauntedhouse ); black characters full of lyricism, softness, complexity in a grounded, sci-fi/magical/otherworldly realm…what more could you ask for? And thank you to @mandi_ogle for trusting me with this one! Go sit at a bar or walk in a park and read/listen to a book! Any book! Books are amazing! @harperbooks @amistadbooks
