Turns out more light is always more better in the shop. Really happy with how this printed flashlight holder on @loc_line flexible hose turned out.
A Firefly flashlight mule pushes out a flood of high CRI light, and a massive magnet lets me put it almost anywhere. I love running it off my stand when I’m cursing whatever janky-ass cable ebike cable routing I’m dealing with these days.
Want to print your own? Let me know in the comments and I’ll send you a file. I designed the holder parametrically so you can adapt it for whatever flashlight you want to use, and there’s a Loc-Line shield kit available that has all the components.
Every year our team rounds up their favorites things from 2025. @brianpark4 rounded up his favorite 15 things from the year from DH bikes getting weird to his @athertonbikes S.150. Link in bio for the full list of his favs.
Bike People, a small annual gathering of bike nerds happened once again in Frankfurt last week. The industry is uncertain right now, but seeing so many smart, passionate, interesting people sharing their ideas and challenges has me excited for the future of bikes.
Thanks to all of you who came out. Couldn’t tag everyone so hopefully the algorithm does its thing. If you were there send me some photos.
See you next year!
Did a little braindump on @pinkbike about the new @trickstuff_official Piccola HD Titanium 3D printed levers. Despite my general skepticism about additive manufactured bike components at scale, I think they did a good job of commercializing these and taking advantage of the process.
tl;dr they feel great and are still really expensive. #mtb
Visited @reformsaddle earlier this year and they were kind enough to let me poke around the workshop where they make heat-mouldable bike seats here in Vancouver. It’s a great idea and an interesting product. More words and pictures on @pinkbike .
A few months back @danger_dario and I went down to Auburn, CA to check out @iamspecialized ’s new MTB development facility. Very cool to get a peek behind the curtain at some wild prototypes, and nice to see the brand move their MTB operations out of Morgan Hill. The interview is on @pinkbike today.
@brodie8191 and @firstlight.frames have put in so much work ahead of this weekend’s Paul Brodie Bicycle Show. 15 of the most interesting and important bikes in the history of our sport (and 1 insane motorcycle), on display together for the first time. If you’re in Vancouver and into bike stuff please drop by this weekend. Tickets here: /events/firstlightframeworks/1133065?
