It’s too bad you can’t see that fifth photo very well because it’s an incredibly charming hand written menu from my favorite place in Paris where I had a polenta that I thought about for weeks. Forgot I had a roll in my magic light leaky Stylus from men’s week in January. I fixed this camera one time and the photos were boring and then it broke again and now it’s my favorite camera in the quiver. Probably some lesson there. #35mm #olympusstylus #ektacolorpro400
Once you start to realize that virtually every aspect of our society is a form of mind control, you see scams unraveling everywhere. The deeper you go, the deeper it goes. Getting a mind and a heart free is a lifetime of work. What helps me is to begin to seriously listen to the wind. As if the wind is speaking and I am trying to figure out what they are saying. Trying to decode the symbols in the beetle carvings, to look for the Dao of the beetle. It’s not enough to reject your programming. It’s a start, but you have to start putting new things back in. Rewash your brain with ideas that repair your heart and unshackle your mind. Do it again and again, continuously, because you are being continuously indoctrinated with lies, delusion, and misdirection. It never stops. Never stop.

I admit it. I’m a terrible worker. An abysmal employee. I have zero hustle and no ambition. I don’t want to *become* anything and I don’t care about growth. I genuinely do not believe that working harder is the best solution to most of the problems we are likely to encounter as a society or as individuals.
I think all beings can fit their essential function if they are allowed to invest themselves totally in every personal, subjective, and whimsical desire. Whatever great wheel we are spun off from has embedded a kernel of absolute truth and necessity in each of us and it requires total freedom to emerge. I think I am here to make music and visual art. I want to spend numberless hours and exhaust all my struggle there. I don’t believe I need to earn the right to do that. I don’t think I should have to make that art profitable in order to sustain it. I don’t think I should be required to do anything else. If that sounds selfish and childish then so be it. I invite you to believe the same things about yourself and whatever you are called to do. I want that for you.
I don’t think about the economy or who will pick up the trash or farm the soybeans or refine the oil. I actually believe everything would be okay in some way none of us can imagine, with far fewer comforts and far greater purpose and unimaginably more truth and beauty. I really think that. I think evil can be banished. Coercion can stop. Must be stopped. I believe all beings can be free.

Ironically I have written and rewritten the same idea in this caption two or three times now about trying to be quieter and more subtle amid the loudness and crudeness of our society. Seems the quietest and subtlest thing I can say is nothing. Looks like I’ve already failed

The process of dissolving the ideas of “work” and “life” as separate exclusive things is pretty far along now. It feels like I go where I’m supposed to. Do what I should when I’m there. Share what I can when I feel like it. Very grateful for the people who have created space for me to do what I do in the way that I do it. Very blessed to gather around warm fires in these cold times. There are warm fires still. We’ll keep them going.
