In April this year I was in Durban shooting a film. After a very long day of shooting, I received an anonymous phone call at around 8pm. The man introduced himself as Colin Taylor from the SASC. He apologized for the late call but wanted to be sure he might catch me while not on set somewhere. He proceeded to tell me how he had just finished watching Lioness season 2 and how much he and his wife had enjoyed the show. We had about a 45 min chat, he asked me if it would be okay to put my name forward for nomination to become a member of the SASC. I was speechless…of course I accepted. He then pressed me to please submit my work for review at this years #visiblespectrumawards I told him I would and promised to meet up in person when I was back in Joburg. Well…’our passion project: Joaquin’ by #blvdhvnny won the Gold Visible Spectrum award for best music video. (Amongst some extremely tough competition I might add ) Honestly, this project is just a gift that keeps on giving 🤗 Colin hand delivered the award and certificate to me. I insisted on paying for lunch. and it turns out, we are also both die hard United supporters. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, it’s been a long time coming…finally season 2 has arrived. First Ep, tonight on M-Net. 🤗 @shannonesra_official is once again phenomenal, a tour de force, she is at the top of her game.

Wow, this was a last minute booking…flew out to Nairobi the same day with a set of lenses. Arrive early the next morning…driven straight to the Recce and handed the brief along the way. We had to make some very quick decisions for what was ‘technically’ a very complicated shoot. But we stuck together and created a lovely piece of work. Super happy for all involved. The lovely humans @fatrainfilms were just wonderful to work with, Congratulations Mr @kennyroc and @isaiahiraya_co 🤗

How lovely. We decided to make this video just to keep ourselves busy during lockdown. It’s crazy. Amazing what can be achieved with everyone’s passion and commitment pulling in the same direction. It was so much fun. So happy for all involved. Thank you…and we won a bunch of film gear. Awesome!!!
