If you could physically touch the vibe of South Asia, what would it feel like?
At South Era Network, we’re all about connecting the cultural dots. We took the vibrant chaos of India, the raw spirit of Pakistan, the poetic resilience of Bangladesh, the loud coastal energy of Sri Lanka, and the enduring mountain warmth of Nepal, and turned them into tangible threads.
We matched the pulse of our people to the heritage textiles that define us.
Swipe to feel the textures of the South. ➡️
Which texture matches your roots, and did we capture your country’s energy right? Drop your flag and your thoughts in the comments. 👇

Raw mango show at LFW the looks from the design table to realization of the show 🌱 was refreshing to work girls from around the world while trying to represent where we come from without making it the point of the showing. Casting @arqa_cast 🙏🏽💌 waited for this for a very long time. Might be common soon to have Indian design at all leading fws.
Designing Motherhood by @michellemillarfisher and @amberwinick is an incredible, and important book, that explores an extensive range of topics, including the many objects surrounding childbirth, motherhood, and the woman’s body during these stages.
Also includes, a feature on the sari, as a maternity garment by Malika Verma @borderandfall
I’m going to be reading through this book for a long time!
🌱
IT’S NOT ABOUT THE FLOWER
Ubiquitous yet specific, the garland adorns what is deemed significant - shrines, thresholds, lovers, vehicles, rites of passage. Its emotion rests not in the individual bloom, but in how elements are strung together.
This collection studies the garland as a social object. Drawing from floral markets and sculptural adornment, it examines hierarchy, rhythm and direction across the body through textiles that are folded, layered and assembled.
Arrangement becomes meaning.

The saree is one of the oldest continuously worn garments - dating back more than 5000 years. This unstitched piece of fabric is an expression and extension of the wearer. It’s powerful and personal. No one does it better than our friend @roz_creativestylist . Eyewear by us at @theopticalboutique@raw_mango@borderandfall@permanentglimpse
Jewellery often travels further than we do.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being part of Natural Diamond Heirlooms Beyond Borders with @onlynaturaldiamonds gave me the opportunity to reflect on something that has shaped my relationship with diamonds from an early age.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Growing up between countries, I saw how jewellery carries stories across borders and generations. A diamond passed quietly from one hand to another. An heirloom reimagined for a new life. Objects that become anchors of memory, identity and belonging.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These ideas continue to influence how I think about jewellery today.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you to @borderandfall and @lisalevinson from the Natural Diamond Council for including me in this project.
Fabulous Feb (at least the first half). We (ie. @borderandfall ) hosted a significant initiative, OPEN Design Talks, at the India Art Fair this year, inviting an exceptional line-up of speakers. Was so glad to have met so many incredible people at the fair and the programme. Also fun, fun, fun - the party to be at- Raw Mango.
Snippets and vignettes from the month + cake time. Some of the art I saw was truly awe-inspiring (most not captured here, but deeply felt).

The last time I was in the Royal Horticultural Halls was working on the McQueen show ‘La Poupee’ in 1996. I would never have believed that 30 years on I would return, wearing a sari, to watch an Indian designer stage a landmark show.
Today Raw Mango staged their first show at London Fashion Week on the main schedule. The show, titled ‘It’s Not About the Flower’, stood out in its simplicity and maturity. Minimal cream and black were punctuated with bold colour, statement embroidery and sculptural silhouettes-minimalism distilled.
Sanjay Garg brought us the flowers and garlands of India as forms in their own right, expressed with quiet confidence and humility. It was a strength and clarity he and his team have well earned after 18 years of designing and building the brand.
There was love in the room. Those of us who have followed the brand were excited to see what Sanjay would present, but also confident it would be exquisite and filled with pride to witness Raw Mango on the international stage in London.
Raw Mango arrived at a time when women like myself were searching for something we didn’t yet know existed: a way to combine culture and heritage with modernity and simplicity. This is what Raw Mango has done so well, offering a way to participate in India’s culture and craft with intellectual context.
Sanjay’s creative practice extends throughout the brand from its campaigns, arts and craft presentations, exhibitions and events. Raw Mango stores are designed like retreat spaces, inviting you to quietly experience and honour the craft.
So today was special. How many opportunities do we get to celebrate our culture in this way in this country?
I took my mother, both of us, with our own Raw Mango collections. From the first London sale in 2017 to sitting front row at London Fashion Week, this felt like a full circle moment.
Ten years ago I was searching for a way to wear my heritage in the present. Today, I watched it walk the London runway.
Huge congratulations to @sanjaymubarikpur the entire team @raw_mango Malika Kashap Verma @borderandfall and sweet Kanupriya @bbayelectric
