Unpretentious Vibes & Astounding Sound, BODYCLOCK is a queer & bipoc-centric weekly underground electronic dance party happening on THURSDAYS at the Piston. Allies are encouraged to come though and be part of the community. Hang out at the front bar or dance it out in the back, we'll be featuring some deep cuts from the city's best local selectors. Each week we deliver a different format to make your body shake and free yourself from the grind. 📍@thepistonbar was established in 2010, since then it has become a staple in Toronto's nightlife community, hosting weekly events and live acts. Her sound blends classic, deep, and soulful house with disco, upbeat R&B/soul, UKG, and global club. She moves through genres with a focus on flow and groove, with her love for house music always shining through each set. She is also the co-founder of Return Radio (@return.radio ), a platform dedicated to electronic music culture, where she curates mixes and explores the history behind the sound. Joining us this evening, we have one of the best selectors Toronto's underground has to offer. ⚡Feature artist // @hycastle Hycastle is a non-binary DJ, producer, and artist. They come to the booth with 15 years of music production experience and a nuanced approach to mixing. Their techno sets dig into hardgroove, industrial, and hypnotic sounds, the kind of selections that feel like they were pulled from somewhere dark, funky, and otherworldly. As co-owner of the @konduktor.to collective, one of Toronto's most forward-thinking electronic communities, they've helped build something genuinely special in the city. With billings alongside AADJA, UFO95, and DJ 3000 and a slot at Sojourn Festival last year, Hycastle brings a deep love and a sharp ear to every set they play. Come prepared to hear something you didn't expect and leave wanting more of it. This house night was a banger 💥 We had our friends @dj.highland.ponies come through and bless the back room with some high-energy soulful goodness. Craig and Hannah have been day-one supporters of Bodyclock and even before that, we've been friends on and off the dancefloor for years. They are an incredible couple that always make people feel good and cared for. It was a truly special night at the @thepistonbar for all of us. Zola (@thoughtfulrevolutionsmusic ) played both opening and closing duties, and as always she played immaculately. Thank you to everyone that came out to share this special night with us. Big up to the Junglist Massive!!! The heads showed up for a phenomenal night of bass busting Jungle and DnB in the back room.🔥🔊 @joyride.mp3 🔥🔥🔥 threw down a jungle clinic behind the decks!!! The entire floor bouncing to her bass and infectious energy, if you've heard the hype around her, it's all true. Our residents @misskleio and Zola (@thoughtfulrevolutionsmusic ) flexed their DnB skills, both have become serious selectors in their own right. The whole night was a beautiful spectrum of what bass music represents. Thank you to everyone that came out to dance and vibe with the community in the back room.
