Cutflower is a Toronto-based DJ, performer, and event producer who, in her words, "refuses to niche down". Her playfully improvised open-format sets are inspired by her formative relationships and by the emotional energy exchange and eroticism of dance. She is on a journey to explore a deeper connection between mind, body, and space.🔪🌸

PWYC Alterations

First come, first serve!
Please join @thevintagehallto and I in supporting the work of @friendsofruby.ca and getting your well-loved pieces mended or altered for a good cause! We’ll have two seamstresses on site all weekend long to offer alteration services and collect donations. 70% of all proceeds will be donated directly to Friends of Ruby.
Friends of Ruby was founded in 2014 by Egale Canada as Egale Youth Services to meet the needs of 2SLGBQTIA+ youth in the Greater Toronto Area. The catalyst was Egale’s “Not under my roof” study that shone light on the crisis of 2SLGBQTIA+ youth homelessness due to disproportionately high rates of family rejection, violence and trauma.
Moved to action, Egale Canada started two initiatives: the construction of a housing facility dedicated to 2SLGBQTIA+ youth and a Youth Centre to better support and understand the needs of youth while the house was under construction. Since then, their Youth Centre doubled in size and features a drop-in space, barrier-free counselling, practical support programs and meals. It’s housed in a brand new, purposefully designed 7,500 square feet space at 70 Richmond Street East and provides support to over 100 young people a month.

30ish hours, thousands of stitches, hundreds of metres of thread and a projector later my @aof_official quilt is complete!!
I started talking about this idea of visualizing music with textiles back in 2024 but it wasn’t until this winter when I visited my friend @aiyanalz in their studio and ran some songs through their oscilloscope that it started to come together. Those patterns inspired the actual quilting visible on the back of the piece, the album cover is pieced together from upcycled textiles from my past projects at @thevintagehallto
