My uncles childhood bedroom was my first room. He went to prison when I was 2 years old so I never got to know him very well. The process of birthing this work has been beautiful and healing for my entire family. I love that I know he likes all his food plain. No sauces. No ketchup, mustard, or mayo. I love that I know he loves bacon, egg, and cheese on everything I love that I learned that the reason why my mom will only eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is if the peanut butter and jelly are mixed together is because that’s how he would make his and hers. I love that I’m learning how strategic his mind is. Learning that he is a person full of ideas and able to execute them with whatever resources he has. My mom said the other day, “ you just like Ronnie, always wit a damn idea”. That’s so grounding and humbling to understand how entangled my beingness is to his- that I am subconsciously and biologically shaped by him. With deep love, deep prayers, and with deep listening, we have prepared this room. You can visit @uncleronniesroom at Chucos Justice Center. RSVP on our website hub! ****The best way to support this project is sending in a letter to the Augusta DA . Instructions and template on our website hub.

The @jailbeddrop experience is rooted in challenging our inherent notion between “crime” and punishment. The work contextualizes and facilitates a space to explore interpersonal accountability and reflect those values back on our “criminal justice system.” Clips from the @jailbeddrop at @moca geffen and @caaminla Filmed by @gilliangarcia and @_giosolis Edited by @autumnmai @theeartwhore @real.sewer.rat @georginaa_g @olemanjenkins666 #jailbeddrop

June 6, come play with us at our next workshop: Marooning Bodies: A World Building Game for Our Collective Dreams facilitated by @bj_mims 🎲🤸🏾‍♂️🌟 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽💭 We’re so proud to partner with Marooning Bodies (@marooningbodies ) to extend the themes of Octavia E. Butler’s Dawn into an immersive experience of gameplay, worldbuilding, and imagining better futures. ➡️In the game, players are guided through a series of questions and scenarios about how a society might organize itself. Together, you will make decisions about shared resources, community rituals, responses to harm, and systems of care. Along the way, you will be invited to reflect, discuss, and create through simple writing, drawing, movement, or storytelling prompts. If you missed out on our sold out Octavia’s Archive event, this is a great way to tap into our Social Practice Labs Module 2 workshops based on “Dawn” by Octavia E. Butler. Come as you are. Bring a friend. Leave having built a world with strangers🌐🌠 🔗 Tickets are $10. Link in bio to grab yours! 📆 June 6, 2-4:30PM 📍Pieter Performance Space 2701 North Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90031

A recent film collaboration with @bj_mims exploring Marooning Bodies, an immersive game rooted in movement, community, and collective imagination. I’m always grateful for artists who are open to experimenting and building something together in real time. This process reminded me how much I love dance film and how much more I want to explore it. Marooning Bodies is a powerful and expansive project. It asks us to imagine new ways of living, healing, and creating as a community, and to leave behind traces of those futures. Shot on the ARRI Alexa Mini in 3:2 Open Gate ARRIRAW with DZOFilm Primes offered through my production company StoryGarden Creative Agency. @storygardenca If you’re in LA, there’s a gameplay session coming up: 📅 Sunday, May 17 | 1:30–4:00 PM 📍 West Los Angeles Branch Library Ages 16+ | Limited to 25 players Learn more: @marooningbodies #dancefilm #experimentalfilm #afrofuturism #worldbuilding #collaboration #filmmaking #losangelesartists #storygardencreativeagency #arrialexa #arri
