Over the past year, I stepped away from Botanica Cimarrón for a period of deep listening, restructuring, and restoration.
Last summer, I returned to Ayiti-Kiskeya to connect with community, land, and parts of myself that had become quiet beneath the fast pace and fragmentation of modern living. I found myself thinking often about relationship — not as an abstract idea, but as a living practice.
Relationship with plants.
With cleansing waters.
With ancestral knowledge.
With sacred places.
With the weary healing body.
With the creative drive.
With the unseen forces that shape how we move through the world.
So much of my work over the last decade has circled this question, but during that time away, something became even clearer:
Many of us are starving for ways to feel meaningfully connected again — not just spiritually, but sensorially, creatively, and practically.
Not through extractive commodities.
Not through performative wellness routines.
But through authentic relationship.
In the ways our ancient ones knew to hold that sacred balance.
That clarity is shaping the next chapter of Botanica Cimarrón.
Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing more of what I’ve been developing: a grounded framework for building reciprocal relationships with plants and the living world through listening, observation, creativity, and ritual practice.
Some of this work will take shape through workshops, writing, conversations, gatherings, and eventually the long-awaited new edition of the Green Gold Oracle Deck, which is currently in development for publication in 2027.
I’m also preparing to co-lead with
@curabohio an immersion program in Samaná this summer — a space centered around ancestral plant medicine, earth based ritual, and the collective remembering of our primordial waters. I’ll share more details soon.
For now, I simply wanted to reconnect with you.
Thank you for staying here through the pauses, transitions, and transformations. I’m returning to this sacred work with greater clarity, depth, and intention — and I’m excited to share what’s unfolding.
