I stepped back to listen to the seasons, the work, and what wanted to grow next.
Hazard Kitchen is expanding, adding to the table through stories, recipes, process, and small-batch foods made to be enjoyed.
This is the next chapter.
In the face of every downfall, one thing has remained constant: food. Through the darkest times in history, it has nourished us, brought us together, and reminded us of our shared humanity. As we grieve what America feels like today it is important to remember that even in sorrow, there’s resilience.
This is our repast—a moment to reflect, to grieve, but also to rise again. Through every hardship, food has been a symbol of survival and triumph. Here’s to the hope that after the darkest night, there is always light.

🐊 Return of the Gullah🐊 Honoring my roots and the Southern dishes that shaped my childhood, this dinner was a celebration of family, tradition, and love. Every bite carried a story, every flavor a memory.

Huitlacoche is a delicacy discovered by the Aztecs.
Also known as Mexican truffle or corn smut, it is a delicious and earthy fungus that grows on top of corn during the rainy season.
Highlighted in our last dinner “Children Of The Maize”, we are excited to share this dish with you all again!

According to Mayan mythology, the gods created the first humans out of yellow and white corn.
Children of the Maize was a seven-course dinner centered around various types of corn, highlighting its versatility as well as its sacred, mythological context. The dinner sought to honor the Ancient Meso-Americans with offerings of food, mezcal and love.
