FJORD is pleased to present Residues, a one-night-only summer screening of fifteen short artist films and video works by Better Lovers and Hsin-Yu Chen, Kara GĂŒt, Brandon Aquino Straus, Corinne Teed, The Institute of Queer Ecology, Laura Bernstein, Kakyoung Lee, Kara Blake, and Samantha Nye.
Dealing in hypnosis, linguistics, learning, ecology, invisibility, performance, and queer commune, these works explore traces that form through the mediation of body, mind, and universe. The screening makes free-associative leaps that ultimately tie together in a sense of a residue, of a world tenuously, yet enduringly, altered by its inhabitants.
Curated by Amy Shindo & Todd Stong
Accessibility: The gallery is located slightly lower than street level, down several stairs and a long hallway. The space is air conditioned.Â
