We made a Zine!!! Today, April 8th, is the official launch. Stop by the Cobbs Creek Community Environmental Center (63rd and Catharine, down the hill) from 5:30-7:30pm to pick up your free copy, snack, chat and celebrate with us! The idea for this project was dreamed up by @creativeoutlet___ & @lindafernandy who have been leading free community art workshops at the @cobbsenvcenter . Over the course of 6 months the artists collaborated with community members, @phillymycoclub & @cobbsenvcenter to create a zine that is full of art and stories from Cobbs Creek.

We’ve been cooking lots of music and baby it’s time to come EAT.

Holding so much sadness and activation and fear for survival these days. To that I respond with a simple poetic exercise. And a practice of voicing and making visible what I feel called to hide and silence—the fact that I exist in a place that doesn’t even want me to be alive.
Join us next Thursday (11/20) 3:30-5pm for the first session of our Zine Making Workshops series!
-In this first session we'll go over Zines 101: what is a zine? How do I make one?
-In the second session (12/9) we'll learn about collaging and how to create art from pre-existing materials.
-In the third session (1/27) we'll have a workshop on how to create and design a coloring book page.
Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a Cobbs Creek field guide and history booklet to be published in spring of 2026!

Celebration and mourning go hand in hand. Like tides to the shore, they are each other’s ebb and flow. Wave after wave of grief is broken by the relief of what’s right, what’s growing, what’s not too much, or too hard, and that is always a celebration.
Greetings friends! I'm doing a last call for sign ups for the SEPT 9th workshop :)
SEPT 9th: We'll be doing a study of green, creating abstract gestural work meditating on the color of abundance. 🌿
We'll gather, breath, and settle into a chapter from Braiding sweetgrass. We'll have a few artists works to ground and guide our practice.
