About a month ago I completed a Percent for Art project with @creativephl @rebuild.phl & @amberpublicart that has been in the works for almost 3 years! The mural for the new Mann Rivera Center, “El Ritmo de Centro”, is inspired by the theme of home and the beauty of the multicultural community in Fairhill / North Philly. It’s been a dream come true to bring this mural to life with the help of an incredible group of artists, community orgs @hacecdc & @tallerpr and over 250 local residents who contributed to designing symbols and painting this 600 foot long mural at the intersection of 5th and Allegheny. Shoutout and huge thanks to all the artists involved: @art_by_ernel @hibiskiss_ @katewelbes @justinjkellerart @nestorrod94 @ysaneldotcom @_jess_the_artist_ @jessika_carvajal_garavito @dayannahs.perspective.art @zoezart___ @mykuh8 @juancarlosvalenciamichileno @renteria7341 @el_jefe_de_bendiciones @madalyndsmith @tonikimballnunziata

Join us to celebrate Haitian flag day with a Haiti film night. Work collaborating with black lines for peace. Philadelphia and the kislak center at Penn Library to put together in the evening of programming. Free food will be provided. You’ll walk away with a flag, or “drapo” understanding of Haiti and it’s current state in the world.

Just completed this piece at Robinson House in North Philadelphia. We were inspired by native plants 🌱 🌻so much love and care went into designing and painting this artwork. 💜💜 These murals were painted in a recently renovated housing shelter, to create a beautiful and welcoming space for families in need. Thank you @playfullearninglandscapes and @watchdogrepm for this opportunity!

I love when art brings people together to share stories, ideas and experiences. This is exactly what happened with Tierra Futura, an exhibit by @sheyriv at @waterfireartscenter that unites artists from Borikén (Puerto Rico) and the diaspora to reflect on our shared experiences and connection to the land. There were so many great questions and conversations, the one that stuck out for me was when I was asked how my work relates to Puerto Rico and Boricua culture. The piece I submitted is called La Casa en la Finca Morada and was created during my residency at @fincamorada in 2025. This painting was an iteration of my series “Caminando en sus huellas” which draws inspiration from tilework work that I observed in Puerto Rico and Cuba and examines the history of European colonization and African influence that is visible in tilework and architectural in the Caribbean. In this painting I created a square grid, similar to tiles, and drew the outline of the house at Finca Morada. Then I hosted a workshop to invite people to add symbols that represent them in each of the squares of the grid. The resulting painting is a house filled with images representing different people, for me this symbolizes creating home and community together through art. Creating the future we want to see. 🏠 Shoutout to all the amazing artists that were a part of this show! And many thanks and so much love to @sheyriv for bringing us together 💕
