Was patrolling the neighborhood this AM
When I saw a tour bus letting a gaggle of girls out at the Pink Wall.
The Counter Guys @carreracafe (best coffee)
Said it happens every Tuesday and Thursday
This time of year.
I guess I had a quizzical look so apparent
Even my Joan Didion sunnies didn't hide it.
Coachella, the owner guy said.
I waited for it to bother me.
But it didn't.
I asked if they came in for coffee.
Not much.
We have to talk to the bus drivers, I said.
I'm very protective of this coffee shop.
I've had more than one belivef place disappear.
I'm very oritective of @uncabaret in the same way.
Of course, even more so.
Everything we love is fragile.
Though love isn't.
Walking home with the caffeine in hand
I wondered
Hiw different is it from the Wailing Wall?
Are these selfies not prayers?
Prayers to be loved. Prayers to be seen.
Prayers to be present. Prayers to be part of something bigger.
Prayers for the kind of peace
That pink preaches.
The passion of red with the compassion of white.
The way the pink
meets the blue of the Los Angeles heaven.
Earth and heaven, meeting.
Take the sea and sky and make it girlie.
So yeah. I’m surprisingly okay with the tour buses
