Attended a lovely event last night with Don Henley, Jeff Goldblum, Ted Danson and others previewing the upcoming PBS docuseries "Henry David Thoreau," executive-produced by Ken Burns and Henley, with Goldblum and Danson voicing Thoreau and Emerson. Following a screening of 40 minutes of beautiful excerpts, there was a thought-provoking and stirring discussion about how we can learn about what's meaningful from the subject's years of stillness at Walden, how his thoughts on civil disobedience speak to the current moment, and how essential it is to separate ourselves from momentary distractions. I felt like it was all something I needed to take in as impetus to change my way of thinking about life in my remaining years. And then I went to the Paramount garage and sat in my car texting about the Pussycat Dolls reunion.
Here is Sienna Spiro, debuting a new song that sure sounds like an audition to get the next Bond theme (and as I said in my review, here's hoping she lands the assignment). @siennaspiro
Sienna Spiro sings "You Stole the Show" alone at the piano at the Troubadour... A beautiful performance, if you can visually tune out all the cameras and phones jockeying with mine to capture it. @siennaspiro
