Jungle runs deep in my blood. 🌴🥁
A brief history…
I bought *Renegade Snares* by
@omnitrio at Parliament Records when I was 13.
@2_bad_mice were around too and, at the time, I didn’t realise they’d basically helped start the whole thing. Years later I’d end up working together on the
@kelis record… full circle. Big ups Si, Sean, Rhodesy and all the Hertford Massive.
I then did some studio work experience with
@shyfx and Tpower in Aldgate when *Shake Your Body* was blowing up. A time I’ll be forever grateful for. Truly mind-blowing to see what they were building.
In the year 2000 I moved to Bristol with a dream to make drum & bass.
I was lucky enough to meet
@clipzuk who introduced me to
@djdie_gutterfunk ,
@ronisizebristol and
@dj_krust — and suddenly I felt like a kid in a musical sweet shop.
So much happened in those years, but I owe a huge part of my craft to Die and Clipz especially. Die was almost like a father figure through those early days, teaching me the ropes (and giving me a few clips round the ear!). We made some killer records and worked on my first album together. So much love for the Bristol crew.
I also wouldn’t have signed to
@brownswood if it wasn’t for the intro from
@rebeccamorgan2439 , who was running Full Cycle at the time — big up the Legs!
Then I met Fierce, who blew my mind as well.
@calibresignature later remixed *Jack*, which was massive for me as I’ve always been such a big fan.
I’d go on to collaborate with
@djmarkym ,
@nutone and many other amazing artists along the way.
And I can’t forget
@baileyintabeats — the first person to play my music on
@bbc1xtra back in the day. My first ever radio play… nothing beats that feeling.
The journey continues. GET DIGGIN ❤️
