DJ Marky tells the story behind the drum & bass anthem ‘LK feat. Stamina MC’ 🔊
The Brazilian D&B hero shares insight into his iconic track with XRS, built around a sample from his mother’s Brazilian record collection.
Initially disheartened by criticism, DJ Marky saw the record picked up by Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost’s V Recordings in 2002. By then, the instrumental was building momentum, with MC Stamina using it for freestyles. Encouraged by the crowd’s response, the pair went on to release an official vocal version, which ultimately charted in the UK.
