@Benweiland and @bobcatdavis are drawn to cold remote places in the world to document and share stories through film. The purpose of this most recent endeavor is to meld surfboards, art, music, creativity, and friendship.
We recently traveled to Iceland with @danedamus and @annagudauskas to work on a film that will be released later this year—one shaped by cold water, shifting light, and the people who are drawn to it. The north of Iceland is a labyrinth of mountains and fjords and it hides some of the region’s most scenic and pristine surf, way off the beaten track. In remote, unpredictable landscapes, the work to find it becomes honest—for those willing to look. The stories belong to the people living them and to the friendships that are built over time.
Here’s a look at some of the stuff captured through the lenses of @fielderfilms .
Last fall, we connected with Dane and Anna Gudauskas as they headed to Iceland to explore a stretch of coastline that asks a lot from anyone willing to spend time there. Cold water, heavy wetsuits, and weather that never settles.
Joined by Elli Thor Magnusson and Ben Weiland, the trip moved at the pace the ocean allowed. Patience, movement, and adapting to the conditions.
Dane wore the G2 Pacific Steel. Anna wore the S5 Tactical Field.

Definitely my first time editing a project of this scale entirely in Mandarin haha Pretty special diving into all the footage Ryan and Cortney captured. Such a beautiful story, I loved getting to piece this one together with you guys.
The film follows ultra runner @yaomiao1 from her origins in a small village in rural China to her rise as a trail running icon. 'No Life Defined' tells her story of courage, sacrifice, and chasing a dream against all odds.
