In all the chaos of “Cape Town Jazz Week”, I got the confirmation that my PhD proposal has been accepted and that I’m now officially registered as a PhD candidate. (SWIPE 👉🏽)
In many ways, so much of what I’ve been making, questioning, and exploring in my work around identity and belonging in South Africa has led me here. At the same time, this feels like only the beginning of what I know will be a tumultuous, beautiful, and deeply necessary journey.
