“Last Supper”
After I was done composing this tune I never thought it was a great fit for trumpet (which is funny coz I’m a trumpeter). I’ve always thought it would be a great piano trio piece or Alto Sax quartet. Anyway I decided to play it nonetheless (as a placeholder) 😅
I would like to thank every soul that pulled through this past Sunday and for packing up the venue in less than a week of announcement, I appreciate you soooo much.

@ndabo moves between trumpet and keys, summoning melody and harmony as one voice. @leagan_starchild bends time itself through drums and keys, where rhythm and resonance pulse together. @f_deeezus completes the circle, shaping the unseen through keys and triggers - stretching sound into memory and space.
What emerges is a layered architecture of sound: dense yet spacious, intricate yet instinctive. A conversation between worlds where rhythm remembers, harmony listens, and texture dreams.
Here, the idea of a big band is reimagined.
not as quantity, but as depth.
not as volume, but as presence.
This composition was supposed signify a period in my life where I thought I had figured out the biggest question mark I had at the time, hence the title “Impendulo”.
That period ended up being one of the most confusing times of my life and the title of this composition had to transform to “Impi Endulo” ngoba impi eseyadlula.
A big shout out to everyone who made it last night, thank you for your undying support. This night gave birth to this beautiful unit, you will be seeing a lot of this unit in the near future. @leagan_starchild I appreciate you so much my brother. @mamakashakaandfriends this is such an important movement for the community kwande. 🙏🏾
