We are so excited to share that Fawn will be premiering in competition at the BAFTA and BIFA qualifying Manchester Film Festival on March 26! Fawning is a trauma response characterized by appeasement and deference to others as a means of self preservation. It’s as autonomic as fight or flight, but rarely acknowledged. Fawning can create self doubt and shame for victims, whose outward behavior doesn’t match their internal experience; they don’t act the way a “victim” should. Fawn is a love letter to those whose experience of sexual violence isn’t socially palatable. With this film we ask: What can we expect from victims, and from allyship, in a world that rewards catering to the male gaze? We offer Fawn as a point of connection without answers or judgement. Shame is powerful, and has a way of convincing you that you are alone. You aren’t. We’re here too. 🚙 The Learners roadtrip is well underway - from London to Vermont and everywhere in between! 🚗 In 2025 we screened at 11 festivals, won 2 awards and were nominated for 5 more - and this year is set to be a whopper follow up! We’re so thankful to all the festival teams who selected the film and had us park up with them, and we’ve had a blast meeting the audiences and filmmakers who have come out and supported the work.
