my first time trying to run this silly distance at a pace with a 6 in front instead of a 7 was a liiiiittle much for my brain to bear. i fought anxiety-induced nausea and nerves the whole time (my brain really said “nothing new on race day” lmao) and somehow ended up PRing with a time that was almost a palindrome. not THE dream, but still a dream.
i am rich in the number of people I have in my corner, including my former LA roommate turned forever friend @sjvicks , my wonderful camp friend KARY, and MOM who hasn’t missed a marathon. you three (among the endless people who cheered and texted) made this weekend what it was.
thank you @itsamarython for reminding me I have more to give and many more chances to try: “You are this fast now…This is your new home.”

to the people, places, & pastries: while I run mostly solo these days, my heart is full thinking about all the peeps I got to share miles with this summer. my legs (sometimes begrudgingly) ran alllll over: from California to Greece, Cape Cod to the Jersey Shore, Idaho to Maine, and maaaany loops of Prospect Park. and shoutout out @tailsandpurr who watch my sweet boi while I go run the world ♥️
