6 stages, 7 days, 270km in the Moroccan Sahara.
This experience transformed me long before I got to the desert. In 2025, MDS wasn’t on my radar, it wasn’t even a consideration. I had been feeling low about my own running - I was out of shape and uninspired.
When I learned that there was an opportunity to run the Legendary, my instincts told me to jump on it. I knew it would bring me into unfamiliar territory, and that in itself was exciting. It took 7 months of prep, relearning how to run, how to fuel, how to heat acclimatize, how to mental stabilize myself out there. Getting to the starting line I felt ready, but had no idea just how hard it would be.
This race helped me recalibrate my running and sense of self. While battling a gnarly stomach bug that reared its head almost every 5 miles on the course across three stages, it took every skill I had to finish with a sense of pride and honestly, just have fun with it. It’s a privilege to be able to see the world through this sport. I don’t take that privilege lightly.
I want to thank our amazing team for having me - @des_linden and @runboulet who displayed a master class in running. @andrewfitts and @buffalodills for being excellent humans.
It’ll take me even longer than a couple days to unpack what I learned in the desert. For now I want to express gratitude to everyone for their messages. I sincerely appreciate y’all. I’d also like to thank my family for being an incredible support system across everything. You never do this alone.

Grid City in deep winter. Captured and colored by @dhash . In the words of Architectural Digest, Grid City is “A Running Tour for Design and Architecture Fans That Isn’t Run-of-the-Mill”. Thank you to every runner that has joined us since launching Grid City in October. It hasn’t gotten any warmer, but the group keeps getting bigger.
Visit for the full calendar of future runs and topics. Hosted in partnership with local designer @pauljmorimoto , each month features a new topic, route and subject-matter guide who leads the group's run and education. As a brand designed, tested and made in New York City, the built environment informs our design language and we seek to strengthen this relationship and share our inspiration with the wider community through this series.
The next Grid City run will be Tuesday, February 10 at 7am in the public lobby of 180 Maiden Lane. Easy 4-mile run followed by coffee and pastries. Bag check available. Register on Strava for the route.
From the sound of the starter’s pistol, race after race, the united gaze of the action on the track was a signal on Sunday that it was time to join the running hive mind.
And through another iteration of the Millrose Games, anticipation was converted into raw competition as emerging talents put existing stars on notice that the future wasn’t far — it was in full exhibit in a preview of the next elite stewards of the sport.
At viewpoints near the race surface, from above and unique corners, photographer Dave Hashim tied art with timed results and emotion that evoke a sense of stillness in realizing that the sport is reborn in every step.
While few ideas are new, the notion persists that the window for the new generation of track phenoms is alive — and thriving.

Save a horse, race a taxi.
Nothing like a rainy run through NYC with my hair down and a fuzzfleece long sleeve on. As always, kudos to @dhash for the meticulous attention to detail on the lewk.
