Tonight at @moodringnyc , @beatswithoutborders serves a buffet of global sounds featuring @club_hysteria and @dj.pinkting as our guest selectors for a Thursday night delight. Club Hysteria is your DJ/producer duo of @paradoxicalpurpose and @love__higher whose sound encompasses diasporic club, footwork, and r&b/rap, pulling from their own cultures and lived experiences. Their high energy and emotional sound is to create lasting memories on the dance floor as well as tap into your heart. This past summer, the duo released their first EP “Silk Pressure,” a project that showcases their style in two tracks. For the first guest appearance on Beats without Borders Radio on @halfmoonbk , resident @kweku.nyc invites @uchethechompman with a recording of their sets from @moodringnyc happy hour on 10/4/2025. This energetic, afro-electric mix is started off with an amapiano and afrohouse lesson by Uche, before being joined for a 40 minute B2B session by Kweku, who rounds out the gqom-centric final third of the mix. 🇳🇬 Uche is a Brooklyn based DJ, producer, artist, host, dancer and event organizer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Uche is of Nigerian descent. Growing up with being exposed to not only African rhythms but also rhythms from other cultures, he aims to fuse these sounds together to make a unique sound and experience that appeals to all music lovers around the world. His mixture of not only technical skill but performance and flair is what makes his sets, and frankly anything he does both fun and of substance. This month’s mix traverses the rich and raw underground soundscapes of amapiano, gqom, batida, UK funky, and Brazilian funk, sometimes forgoing danceability for the sake of noise. Bookended with recent tracks by African pop starlets Tyla and Amaarae, it is an exploration of some of the rhythms behind the current wave of African and Afro-diasporic popular music.

Episode 003 of Beats without Borders Radio on @halfmoonbk streams today 8/14 at 5 PM EST. Recorded on July 26, 2025 on a beautiful, easy, breezy evening outdoors at @onecornergh in Accra, Ghana—this is the first half of a 4 hour set. I had a techno set at a warehouse rave later that night, so this was a groovy house warmup for both myself and the crowd. Huge thank you to @aspecksgh and @ezradavisgh for being so welcoming of me at their bar, allowing me to do my thing all night twice during my time in GH. Can’t wait to be back.
