This weekend I had the privilege of being asked to attend and help at the official summer @spinerace workshop organised by @ab_runs .
The weekend included 2 runs on the Pennine Way covering Gearstones to Tan Hill with media team @clorroe_cam popping out from various rocks on route.
Workshops including Navigation by @louise.mountains , foot care by @kevrunstrail , mindset and bag packing by @ab_runs , lessons from the Spine with Q&A by @alice.kershaw . Advice on endurance events from @kirstyreade72

A great weekend spent with some great people signed up or looking to sign up to a @spinerace event.

Three different recces over the past month all for the Lakes Traverse.
Selection of weather from blue sky days to almost zero visibility in the clag.
It’s about doing the work and trusting the process which is easier said than done sometimes.

2025 did some running, visited some new places, met some awesome people. Nicked a few routes, shortcuts, Trig point selfies & Cafes thanks Mel. Volunteered putting some flags out, volunteered helping some people, had a lot of fun.
I know comparison is the thief of joy and numbers are just that but I have never run as much in my life as 2025. Thanks to all who have been out on the training runs, recce runs, fun runs, dog jogs and events.

Grand day out at @craggrunner Moors the Merrier. A 21 mile moorland trot in God’s Own Country.
Body parts did what they were supposed to. Great route calumniating in Pie & Peas and a catch up with mates not seen in a bit.
One of the best events of the year. Thanks to @dazgraham68@joolzgraham and the @craggrunner team for another year of great events.
I recently completed a 16 hour outdoor first aid course hosted by @mountainmoorland the course is primarily designed for those working in the outdoor environment such as Mountain Leaders, Climbing Instructors, DofE Award Leaders but I would highly recommend it to anyone who spends time in the outdoor environment.
Day 1 was classroom based with a mix of presentations, practical and written assessment.
Day 2 was all practical outdoor scenarios.
I would highly recommend @mountainmoorland if you are looking for a course like this.
Long weekend in Goring for The Autumn 100 recce.
What ever your thoughts on recces, I find them useful and part of the process.
I’m lucky I have the ability and means to do a recce.
I think it best to have as many tools in your toolbox as possible for when you need to start solving problems.

I was teamed up with @keenrunner01 tasked to erected radio repeater at Skiddaw little man and then flag from the summit of Skiddaw and Blencathra.
Weather was a tag blowy on the summits.
I was lucky to catch up and hang out with existing mates and make some new ones over the weekend.
I also learnt you can dry your wet duds with your cars AC. #wetunderpants
