It is, in fact, a painting…..the brushstrokes of light, directed at specific points, gradually give tone and colour to the story to be told. My photography will be different from now on’ ‘It’s so rare to find courses at that level, and I feel so lucky to have been there for the first run. You were so thorough in everything you covered that every time I was about to ask a question, you had already answered it!’ ‘I loved that it was YOUR shoot – authentic, without any compromise – and we could witness the entire production in it’s true form. I was overwhelmed (in the most positive way) with all the information, and will probably need another month just to process it. BEST WORKSHOP EVER.’

Great work Gidz and photographer @miyamizunophotography 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple - Key Art Shoot Miya Mizuno got in touch back in autumn 2024 to ask me to work with her on a series of Key Art shoots for a 4th film in the 28 Days Later saga. To say I was pretty stoked to have the chance to play a very small part in the continuation of the story of one of my favourite movies is definitely an understatement!!! The Key Art for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple took place across 2 shoots in the North of England. One in North Yorkshire and one up near Newcastle, both involved a large amount of pre-production and planning as the locations were very rural and isolated. The shoot concepts required very specific lighting setups, where small movements of the actors produced dramatic changes to the lighting. Which meant that again a meticulous lighting diagram was needed after the first shoot, to allow me to recreate things exactly on the second part so everything would match. Shout out to Ellen Steers and the team at @weare_premier for all their pre-production and on set support. Also to the team at @directdigitalhq who supplied the equipment to the middle of nowhere!
