I met
@zaccrain sometime in the early 2000s . We were all young journalists working in our big city . Zac was the music editor at the Dallas Observer . I was a staff photographer at the Dallas Morning News. We compared our love for writing and photographing
@eisley ; the amazing family band out of Tyler, Texas . When I became a freelancer, we stayed in touch. I occasionally pitched story ideas to him . He always responded. Zac’s eye along with his way of words was unmatched. I felt, in someways, we spoke a similar language , a visual language. I highly recommend purchasing a copy of his photo book , A Pedestrian’s History of Dallas published by
@deepvellum . A must for all Dallas history collections.
Zac, Sigh. Last weeks news of your untimely passing makes zero sense.
I made this crappy photograph at Herreras( thank you
@gracevroom ), I think, maybe in 200ish. Zac is wearing my FredFlare censor bar shades , shot on my Polaroid. Dallas lost a historian. I lost an old friend. My heart goes out to Isaac and Nikki , all of his friends ,
@d_magazine coworkers and readers. #zaccrain #zaccrainformayor
