And just like that we come to the end of another year and season of AUT activities
Thank you to everyone who came out to our events in 2025!
Thank you to the artists, venues, partners, festivals and foundations who supported our work and made it possible. Here’s a roundup! 🎉
. We started off the year at
@institutforx , Aarhus where Duo Knarborg/Andersen presented their Oscillations programme, which featured the premiere of Lemniscate by Santiago Rueda García (winner of one of 2024 open calls and now a member of the AUT board)
. Dylan Richards and Lorenzo Columbo presented COMPOSITE at
@musikhuset Aarhus - a performance oscillating between hardcore punk, classical music, experimental music, and video-art
. As part of
@aarhusjazzfestival , Olga Witte presented her large-scale work ‘Quantum Gravity’, performed by an all-star group of wind and brass musicians at
@langenaeskirken
. Dylan Richards and Michael Hope presented ‘Concert for composer/performer’, a performance that reflects on how one can idiomatically compose a concerto for the increasingly prevalent role of the composer/performer
. We ventured to Copenhagen for a second run of shows of Matthew Grouse's music-theatre work set in an absurd call centre ‘Calls to this number are being diverted’
. Cake Of Day, winner of one of the 2024 open calls, presented two performances of ‘Personlige Sange Forfattes’ at Institut for X, an intimate dinner concert that explores the Danish tradition of ‘lejlighedssange’
. Completing the group of 3 open call winners from 2024, we co-produced the second performance of Olga Szymula’s ‘re-‘ with KLART at
@ungkinsta.This also included the premiere of a partner piece ‘un-‘, to complete a diptych of works based on enactment and reenactment
. Accordionist Jónas Ásgeir Ásgeirsson and sound artist Sophia Sagaradze closed out our season with their concert ‘This is Going Well’, presenting works by Danish and Icelandic composers as well as an installation that transformed ungK into a visual representation of the performer’s inner state of mind
