Malibu commercial day! We had a bunch of different setups—clean beauty closeups, product moments, and bright daylight that loves to test your exposure discipline. Keeping the Alexa Mini + Master Primes package dialed, keeping sharps, and swaps fast so that DP @tymezuk could stay in the flow and keep building the look!

The Sony Venice 1 paired with the Sony Cine Alta Primes made a nice well balanced camera for handheld work. Along with clear & crisp imagery with character. 🎥 Even with though the Altas being released 2013, they still hold a good image to this day! DP Master Chef @tiffarmourtejada_ really knows how to craft up amazing images to tell a story. 🙌🏽 It was so awesome to watch her work and learn why she would make certain color & lighting choices. She has the eye & the understanding of the rhythm of a shot. It was so nice to see how we could maximize what we could capture in camera over adding in post. #lettiffcook

From your run bags and tool kits, plan on what you need, but adapt to can you can bring. 🔧

The world of anamorphic optics is truly something incredible. A portal that lets you step into another world by just taking a look through the viewfinder. You feel different after seeing it. That's something I got to experience with the Panavision T Anamorphics for a project with the incredibly talented DP @matthewrivera . It was such a privilege to work along side such skilled and hard working cam fam: @hayden.croy , @taylorharrisbgf , @jaron_tauch_soc , @camgrip . Thank you guys for such an amazing experience. I understand many of us may be experiencing a really slow July and just wanted to say that the feelings you are experiencing are completely normal. Yes, this is rough. But since we are not on set, we can take the time to sharpen our skills especially in this fast growing technology filled industry.
I had the opportunity to take DP Bennett Cerf's DJI R2 Masterclass and was really impressed. He took us through the foundation of Gimbals, the prep, the build, and the execution. I have been working with the R2 for a while and Bennett really reworked my mind and eliminated the bad habits I developed over the years. He was very engaging with the entire class and I was so excited that we all got to get hands on with all the tools and equipment. I feel fully confident now working on the R2 System. I encourage all who are reading this, if you have some downtime look out for local workshops or trainings happening in your local area. You will learn, grow, and meet some incredible filmmakers like yourself!
