AI is an amplifier.
It amplifies inclusion when it's designed with people with disability. It amplifies exclusion when it's not. There's no neutral position.
Across Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra this May, members of Australian Disability Network are spending an afternoon together, with Dr Katherine Hunt, building a practical framework for ethical and inclusive AI. Once developed, the framework will help members implement AI in ways that enhance inclusion in their organisations, rather than create barriers.
If your organisation is a member and you want to be part of this build, your relationship manager has the details.
If it isn't, this is the kind of work you benefit from when you become a member with us. Reach out to us today at [email protected]

On World Day for Safety and Health at Work, the focus is on psychosocial working environments: the conditions that shape how people experience work every day. Workload, stress, communication, support, and whether people feel they belong.
For employees with disability, psychosocial safety is inseparable from access and inclusion. When barriers go unaddressed, whether in systems, culture, or everyday practices, the impact on wellbeing is real.
How do you know where your organisation stands?
That's exactly what the Access and Inclusion Index is designed to help with. It gives organisations a clear, confidential picture of their access and inclusion maturity, and a roadmap for what to do next.
If you haven't measured where you are, today is a good day to start. Visit our website for more ways we can support your organisation. Link in the bio 🔗

Psychological safety and disability inclusion are more connected than many organisations realise.
When people feel safe to speak up, ask for what they need, and show up as themselves, they do their best work. Disability inclusion, done well, is one of the most effective ways to build that safety.
Here's what that looks like in practice:
✅ Workplace adjustments drive better performance
When people can ask for what they need without fear, they show up fully. The result is stronger individual contribution and better outcomes for the whole team.
✅ Inclusive recruitment builds stronger teams
Accessible, transparent hiring processes mean you're selecting from a wider talent pool and making better decisions. You find the right person, not just the person who navigated the process best.
✅ Inclusive culture improves collaboration and retention
Teams with high psychological safety collaborate more effectively, solve problems better, and stick around longer. Disability inclusion work builds exactly those conditions, for everyone.
Psychological safety build through disability inclusion measures how well an organisation has built trust, and the benefits flow to the whole workforce.

Meet the experts behind our training 🌟
At Australian Disability Network, our facilitators don't just teach disability inclusion, they bring deep expertise, real-world experience, and genuine commitment to shifting how people think and act.
Christopher is AusDN's Training Lead and an educator with over 15 years of experience, including post-graduate qualifications in education. He has taught across TAFEs, Western Sydney University, and internationally, and spent nine years working in the disability sector before joining our team. His training challenges learners to recognise barriers they may not have considered and connect them to a modern understanding of disability.
Nicholas brings five years of experience as a Capability Development Facilitator at Bupa, where he also chaired the Access and Inclusion Network. As a person with low vision, he draws on both lived experience and practical expertise to help learners build confidence in supporting people with disability, at work, in the community, and in everyday life.
Sarah has a background spanning creative arts, mental health, LGBTIQA+ inclusion, and one-on-one support for people with disability and neurodivergent people. She designs and facilitates training across a wide range of settings and audiences, and brings a practical, grounded approach to her sessions. Her core message: you don't need to be an expert in disability to create change. Small, everyday actions matter.
Ready to build disability confidence in a way that’s practical and grounded in real work situations? We’d love to talk.
