Many people say politics is a dirty game. They are right. But since we all hate dirt — who is going to clean it?
These past weeks, I have travelled across Zangon Kataf and Jaba LGAs, visited the wards, spoke to women leaders and youth groups. sat with varied groups in varied regions, and listened. And I have learned a lot. There are layered problems in our communities, and until we listen to understand — instead of thrusting on people the solutions we believe serve them — we will never get to the root cause much less the solutions.
So for those who ask why I am running: I am running to understand the everyday problems our grassroots people face, and to seek solutions for the greater good — not just for the people of today, but for our children, who should outlive us.
If we do not do our bit now, we will not be around to protect them later. The only true protection for those we love is the investment we make today — so that regardless of who they are or where they come from, they are a little better off, because we planted the tree today for the shade they will sit under tomorrow.
Politics, for all the vilification it receives, affects us all — whether we participate or stand aside, whether we judge it clean or dirty, however piously we judge ourselves or however compromised we think our leaders are.
The question is not whether politics is dirty.
The question is who is willing to clean it.
I am willing to give it a shot!
And we don’t all have to run for office but we should definitely not run from participating/ supporting/ promoting and advocating for good governance!!

So I don’t really like taking pictures especially professional ones .. but as an aspirant you need to take pictures … so I took some but wasn’t too enthralled with the outcome ( per usual). Then a few weeks ago my lil sis @xanswat texted me that some photographer wanted to organize a free photo shoot ! Hmmm so I was like “ are you sure he is good?” . She said “ Of course” Now @xanswat knows her photography so I decided to give it a try. I checked out his page @khaleegraphy and was pleasantly impressed by his dexterity. And so last Sunday I carried my gear and sat down with him and his crew for under 3 hrs.
Suffice to say it was the most fun photoshot I’ve ever had and the conversations were very engaging . He said something that was very powerful to me . He said “ I have no interest in Politic’s but when people like you decide to run I see hope for a more progressive and prosperous Nigeria and this is my contribution to that process “. And @audu WEPT!
Well not quite … but I was touched .
Thanks # Danladi of @khaleegraphy for this huge donation!! The words are fuel for our campaign!!
0h did I mention he was a FLoreat! @kcoba_worldwide !!
At the intersection of capital, innovation and the digital economy, the conversation is no longer about potential. It is about execution. @audumaikori , Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Chocolate City Group, joined industry leaders at the State House, Abuja to address a key question for Nigerian enterprises. How do we move from ideas to scale and who funds that journey?
From access to finance to the role of digital infrastructure, one thing stood out. The future of enterprise in Nigeria will be shaped by bold ideas and systems that actually support growth. #Innovation #AccessToCapital #NigeriaBusiness #SMEs Leadership

May your homes be filled with joy, your hearts with contentment and your lives with countless blessings.
Eid Mubarak!
Audu Maikori @audumaikori built Chocolate City when nobody believed a Nigerian label could compete.
M.I. Abaga. Jesse Jagz. Ice Prince. He didn’t just sign artists—he built an institution.
20 years later, his warning is clear:
“They took our body for 400 years. Intellectual property enslavement is in perpetuity.”
Afrobeats is global. But who owns it?
If Spotify and YouTube leave tomorrow, we have no backup plan. No infrastructure. No data.
Audu saw this coming. That’s why Chocolate City owns its masters. Registered in the US. Protected globally.
The man was fetching water from a well in 2004. Twelve months later—top 10 hit in Lagos.
This episode is a masterclass in ownership, survival, and building something that lasts.

Proud to be from Southern Kaduna. Proud to be Jaba. Proud to be Nigerian.
This pride is not new. It was planted in me by my father, Barr. Adamu Maikori — the first indigenous lawyer from Southern Kaduna, who ran for Governor in 1991 because he believed our people deserved someone willing to stand up. He taught me that public life is not about comfort. It is about courage and duty.
I have carried that lesson through everything.Through a legal career that took me inside Nigeria’s most complex infrastructure transactions — the privatisation of PHCN, the Nigerian Ports concession, the Abuja Mass Transit framework, the Nigerian Railway Concession. I did not just inherit ambition. I trained for complexity.
Through building Chocolate City into one of Africa’s most recognised music companies — home to M.I. Abaga, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, CKay, Blaqbonez, Young Jonn, Classiq, DJ Cinch etc Earlier on I had served on the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program Presidential Committee (SURE-P ) as not only the youngest board member but as the Project Convener — I helped to create jobs for 370,000 young Nigerians and internship opportunities for over 23,000 internships across Nigeria.
While in exile I built global partnerships and honed relationships that expanded my world view .
On my return I launched a $1 million Founders Fund for creative entrepreneurs targeted at underserved regions and parts of Nigeria that typically can't access funding and yes Kaduna is an areas of focus !
I recently founded the Laiatu Gyet Maude Maikori Educational Foundation — in memory of my mother, a teacher — which will sponsor indigenes annually at Federal University of Applied Sciences Kachia (FUASK). 55% of the beneficiaries shall be young women, and the scholarships shall be split equally between Jaba and Zangon Kataf Govts .
Ai Namu ya dawo! (Our son has come home)!
Today I formally declare my intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Jaba / Zangon Kataf Federal Constituency on the platform of the APC in the 2027 General Elections.
The formula is simple : Vision +Action= Results
Lokaci ya yi. The time is now!!
