🚨🚨🚨🚨 ‘𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐢𝐭 / 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬’ 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲❕two songs from the same noir pop ~ minimalist-maximalist electronic worldcorner of my mind. written, recorded, produced, and mixed by me 🎙️ mastered by @audibleoddities 🪻 with heavy inspiration from @fkatwigs , @portisheadofficial , @nineinchnails , @bjork , David Lynch, and The Legend of Zelda. I created these tracks 12 or 13yrs ago in my old bedroom in Philadelphia; each wall a different colour -& barely a setup to make anything (much less something for release). I pecked at the tiny graphic of a computer keyboard superimposed on the screen in a pirated version of Logic to create sounds, tweaking presets for hours and functioning purely on intuitively deep intentional listening…. drones + beats + precise vocal melodies to carry/cut thru. every 400 days or so I have returned and wondered if the time is right to release this music ~ if I wanted to update elements, if it should even reach the wider world. but I could never bring myself to change anything nor abandon the songs entirely. then one morning this past December, on a walk in southern Florida - I simply knew it was time and sent them off for mastering. Sometimes you just know. some songs have to travel a decade or more thru the stratosphere of your limbs before they’re ready to be born and I can think of no better moment for this birth than today: my 10 year anniversary of moving to New Orleans. a move I never expected to make nor planned much for, a leap I have come to understand better with each passing day week monthhouryear. an invitation from a native to come and make new music spawning the radical continuation -& amplification of my life’s purpose ~ solidifying home. cheers to the lustfully hungry watusi I photographed as @ttpring.69 fed ‘em out at @globalwildlifecenter last spring 🪽 for the cover art.
