In one evening: experimental drawing class w/ a nude model @atelierjolieofficial and the oldest Irish saloon in NYC @mcsorleysoldalehouse , established in 1854. The teacher was Andrew Castrucci, a visual artist whose work is @ the MoMA, Whitney and Brooklyn museums. The saloon, full of stories. One is that Abraham Lincoln's chair is hanging from the roof. And that the wishbones hanging above the bar were left by boys who went to World War I and never came back. Other famous patrons: Houdini, Hunter S. Thompson and John Lennon. They serve 2 types of beer: light and dark. One beer is serve in 2 small pints. Cash only. Their mottos are "Be Good or Be Gone" & "We were here before you were born". Another cool event I assisted was the @womenstreetphotographers Annual Exhibition sponsored by Leica camera. A global community dedicated to supporting and amplifying the work of women photographers from all races, ethnicities, creeds, generations, abilities, and sexual and gender identities from around the world. I'm part of the collective and have been invited before. Finally, I was able to join in person. The space was an abandoned public school building in East Harlem, turned into affordable live/work housing for artists and their families. My NYC trip was full of inspiration! Nothing is accidental. I happened to be staying on The Bowery around the corner of @atelierjolieofficial . 57 Great Jones was once Andy Warhol's space for his Factory Films. He later rented the upstairs loft to Jean-Michel Basquiat, who lived and worked there until his death in 1988. Angelina Jolie purchased the building in 2023 and turned into a cultural arts center. I went in with a Cliff's Variety bag (store in the Castro in SF) and someone goes: Are you from California? That was my new friend Robert Blue. We instantly connected. He introduced me to one of the teachers and they convinced me to take a few classes. I accepted. Yesterday, we did silkscreen printing. I drew my design and printed it on my tank top. These are Anna and KJ, the couple that rescued me during the storm at Burning Man in 2023. The beautiful souls that saved me when I when I was cold, wet, hungry, thirsty and had nowhere to go. My bike was stuck in the mud, the desert had turned into a swamp and I was carrying my Nikon inside a garbage bag. I was stranded from my camp for 24 hrs and had no means to tell anybody, including my parents. They gave me shelter, dry clothes, warm food and a cozy place to sleep in their RV at the 3 O’ Clock Post Office. Their act of kindness left a huge mark in my life. And now, after more than 2 years, we reunite and I can finally say thank you in person. A special moment of humanity 💫 #kindness #humanity #friends #burningman #10principles

My NYE was a complete Xanadu! ⭐️ Welcoming 2026 w/ great energy, resolutions and fun. New & old friends.
