Last week we shared some big news… @skiftnews officially acquired @hospitalityfm 🎉
Here’s what that means for us (and why we’re really excited):
🎙️ This means that @goodmorninghospitality is now an official official Skift podcast! 🥳
If you don’t know Skift (you’ve probably read a bunch of their articles), they’re the leading global source for travel and hospitality news, research, and events — basically, the industry’s go-to.
My co-host @stevelturk and I thrilled to be part of the extended Skift family, which means our conversations, insights, and guests now have an even bigger platform!
A big shoutout to @slicktalkpod , who not only produces our show and cohosts in the Monday show, he managed this acquisition! Congrats buddy! Big things ahead!
More fun news is surely on the way😉 … but in the meantime:

“The Secret to Making Someone Feel Special.”
It’s not so complicated after all. Often times it takes flipping the script of something expected into something unexpected that creates a sense of wow. And in that, we turn the ordinary into the unforgettable …
When was the last time you did something simple that really had a significant impact? Or maybe you were the recipient and were made to feel special?

Ahh so very cool! 🎉 Honored to be on the cover of Global Hospitality magazine and recognized as the #2 Hospitality Influencer by the International Hospitality Institute. 🛎️
What a list of honorees filled with so many talented contributors. A list that I’m especially proud to be on because my roots in this industry run deep. I didn’t land here by chance or pivot in, I’ve been in hospitality for over 20 years.
Not on the periphery, but on the front lines: hostess, bartender, short-lived (and admittedly not the best) waitress, longtime (and award winning) concierge… and still today, working directly with private clients.
It’s one thing to talk about hospitality from a boardroom or behind a spreadsheet. That work absolutely matters. But it’s another thing entirely to look a guest in the eye and make sure their moment is seamless.
That’s the work I’ve lived… and for those of us that have held those positions in hospitality. We are built differently. We are the special sauce that ties together all the other aspects of hospitality. We are the guest experience.
For me… it’s those who serve actually represent hospitality. I often refer to the “front lines” because this is what I am talking about.
To those who are the reason behind glowing TripAdvisor reviews, to those whose guests return year after year just to say hello—you are the heart of this industry.
And I’m honored to still be in it with you, just with a new kind of front line… serving travelers through stories, insights, and service on social media and TV and behind NDAs. 😉
Once a concierge, always a concierge. Thanks again for the honor… 💛

Yoooo, I rarely get THIS excited about travel news these days, but this is different! You can now book travel straight from a social media video on @tiktok !
Back in 2017, I was brainstorming ways to make this a reality with a business partner… and so here we are… NINE years later and @tiktok finally made it possible to book travel from videos and social posts! Bets on how long until @instagram , @meta , and @youtube roll out a similar capability!??
This is going to have a profound impact on the industry… and quite frankly, a change that’s needed to happen for a loooooong time.
Have you started dabbling with #tiktokgo yet?
I know what I’m building in to all my brand pitches this week!
Weeeeee!
We are so used to being on all the time … checking, scrolling, replying, consuming … that I think a lot of us do not even realize how overstimulated we’ve become.
Loved joining @cbsla with @cbslarachel and @amandastarrantino to talk about digital detoxing … and not in the dramatic “throw your phone in a lake and disappear for 3 days” kind of way.
I mean the real-life version.
The version where you put the phone down a little more often. Where you stop reaching for it out of habit every five seconds. Where you create even a little space from the noise and remember what it feels like to let your brain breathe for a minute.
Because sometimes the issue is not that we need more information … it’s that we have way too much of it, all the time.
And honestly, protecting your peace a little more these days? That feels less like a luxury and more like survival.
Thanks for having me, @cbsla 💛 @candacecam_

Trivago sues Google over hotel search dominance, Weather.com moves into travel booking, and Tripadvisor explores AI deals while trimming its business.
On today’s Skift Daily Briefing, Sarah Dandashy (@askaconcierge ) breaks down Trivago’s new antitrust lawsuit against Google, why Weather.com wants to influence your next trip before you even search for one, and how Tripadvisor is reshaping its business around AI partnerships and strategic selloffs.

Heading to Seattle in the next few weeks? We have a tip for you to have the smoothest guest experience 🍍✨
We visited @staypineapple Maxwell Hotel with @askaconcierge and a few things stood out immediately.
Our lives have become so digital, so scheduled, and so constantly on… that sometimes the real luxury is just stepping back for a minute.
Loved joining @cbsla with @cbslarachel and @amandastarrantino to talk about digital detoxing… not in some dramatic disappear-off-the-grid way, but in the very real everyday sense of giving your mind a little more space to breathe.
Because sometimes the answer is not more scrolling, more noise, or more input… sometimes it’s less.
And honestly, in a world that keeps asking for our attention 24/7, protecting your peace starts to feel a little rebellious… and a lot necessary.
Thanks for having me, @cbsla 💛@candacecam_

We spend so much time trying to make moments look special... polished, elevated, camera-ready... and sometimes in all of that, we miss the part that actually matters most.
The thought behind it.
Because people usually do not walk away remembering the fanciest detail or the most staged version of a moment. They remember what felt personal. What felt sincere. What made them feel like someone was actually paying attention.
That is a big part of what this clip from my TEDx talk is about. That no amount of luxury, polish, or presentation can replace genuine human connection and thoughtfulness.
Pretty is easy. Thoughtful takes more.
And honestly... people can feel the difference every single time.
TEDx, thoughtfulness matters, human connection, hospitality, meaningful moments, public speaking, emotional connection.
Thoughtfulness matters.
Uber starts booking hotels through @Expedia , AI’s role in travel booking is still evolving, and travelers are prioritizing speed over service style.
On today’s Skift Daily Briefing, Sarah Dandashy (@askaconcierge ) breaks down why @Uber ’s hotel feature is really about subscriptions, what the AI debate reveals about the future of booking, and why travelers care more about fast answers than whether they come from humans or machines.

When the whole team is on the same wavelength... literally.
You know that feeling when the staff is so friendly and easy to be around that by the end of the stay, you’re basically like... okay but are we in a group chat now or what?
Within reason, obviously 😄
A hotel with personality is always more fun... but when the service is warm and the whole experience just clicks, it makes the stay feel that much better.
Playful, welcoming, a little quirky, and very easy to enjoy.
