150 Parkruns and 50th time Volunteeting at Hackney Marshes.
As with my 100th decided to pace and was just outside the pacing time. Also think my baking has improved since then as well. Should probably invest in some scales and a whisker.
But good to see some regulars and from other local Parkruns.

Still Alive and running not as much as I would like. But grateful to be running. I think if I were training for a marathon I’d have overdone it and be moaning about something more serious. Slowly building the mileage and strength for autumn. January wasn’t great in general, but more optimistic about things.

Saturday will be the unofficial milestone of 150🏃🏾 and 50 🦺 at Hackney Marshes.
A year ago I missed out through injury. This made running today extra sweet. I haven’t raced a 10K due to nursing injuries. Nice to unleash some speed. I was aiming for sub 1hr. Ran sub 55 minutes a huge season's best (Calendar year) and a 5K season best as well. Good to see familiar faces as well. @runthroughuk doing a fantastic job as always. Already marking for next year.

Another London Parkrun ☑️ off. I believe I’m a quarter of the way there. Pymmes in enemy territory. Really enjoyed this one flat and fast ideal for a PB. Very easy to get there via the overground. Loved that so many volunteers and runners dressed up for Halloween. On the downside you do have to bring your own Pimm’s.
Did get to run in my new Volmero Plus wide shoes. Did the job today, but not bought for Parkrun so looking forward to some long runs. Enjoyed walking through broadway market but disappointed Benny’s was closed.

Who would have thought after running a half and a full marathon in the last 4 weeks. I would have enough energy to run a half marathon today. Fastest time this year and fastest since March 2024. Though few creaks with the right ankle swelling up.

Berlin we came we saw we ran we PB.
The hottest 🥵 race I’ve ever run. Stark conditions from the beginning, middle and end. But crowd support was great, the course was fantastic and I could not have asked for more.
Though wished I had chosen the bag drop instead of the poncho. Severely dehydrated and nearly fainted several times. But obviously fine now.
Managed to cram some tourism of Berlin into 1 day on 1 goodish leg 😆
💯 would recommend entering the ballot or signing up via a sports tour company.

From the city to the sea. Newscast to South Shields. The red arrows flying over. The @great_run was epic. 60,000 people and I was one of them. 200,000 spectators throughout the route. Tough course lots of incline and a stubborn surface. Which caused a blister. Great medal even with the geographic error. Plenty of post run goodies. Which puts big London races to shame. Would recommend getting in the 2026 ballot.

I won a competition recently and the prize was these bad boys. Puma Nitro Elite. Finally done a few runs in them during this unbearable heat. Running in a carbon plated shoe takes some getting used to. Looking forward to doing some Parkruns and some 10K races in them.
