📣 Calling all New Brunswick Artists: Professional Artist Accreditation Is Now Open!
ArtsLink NB is currently accepting Professional Artist Accreditation applications from practicing New Brunswick artists of all disciplines, communities, regions, and linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
According to the Status of the Artist Act, professional artists are entitled to national industry fee standards and detailed contracts. Professional Artist Accreditation is a way of protecting these new employment rights.
Additionally, accredited professional artists will appear in a public database, creating a visible network of professional artists that can be used by engagers across government, the cultural sector, and the wider community.

🙌 Join us in welcoming Joseph Webster to our team!
Joseph joins us through the Experience MTA program, and will be working as a Programming Intern alongside Jericho Knopp (our Programming Director), Sabarah Pilon, and Penny Stevens.
"My name is Joseph Webster, and I am a fourth-year student at Mount Allison University studying Classics with a minor in Latin. I am from the Saint John area and am passionate about the community in which I grew up. I believe that the arts play a crucial role in fostering a community, because of this I am very excited to get to work with ArtsLink NB and help promote the arts in my community!"
Congratulations to Carmen Gibbs on her incredible tenure as Executive Director of l’Association acadienne des artistes professionnel.le.s du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Carmen has been a generous friend to ArtsLink NB over the years. In our earliest beginnings, she was an advisor to our founding members as they formed the organization. Since then, partnerships between our organizations have been numerous, with participation in key working groups, advocacy efforts, translation and development of key resources and research, development of programs, and cross participation in activities for the betterment of the sector.
Our work has benefited greatly from her perspective, collaboration, and commitment, and so has the provincial arts sector. She has been a tireless advocate for artists and arts organizations across New Brunswick, helping to build a stronger, more connected, and more sustainable cultural landscape for the province.
Among her many accomplishments, Carmen’s determination and advocacy were instrumental in the historic achievement of the adoption of Status of the Artist legislation this past year, a milestone that will have a lasting impact on artists in New Brunswick for generations to come.
We extend our sincere gratitude for her extraordinary contributions and wish her all the best in this well-earned retirement.
Félicitations !

🗳️ The Human Development Council has some excellent resources for voters in the upcoming municipal elections, including this infographic on the three funnels of government responsibility.
While the federal and provincial governments have a big role to play, they've placed "arts and culture" as a municipal responsibility given how much impact your local council has.
📸 They have also created "Municipal Election Data Snapshots" for Moncton, Fredericton, and Saint John, and their New Brunswick Community Data Portal is an excellent resource.
🦉 If you want to ask informed questions of your local candidate about what's going on in your community, this is an essential source for facts.
