Today is Red Dress Day.
The National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. A day of remembrance, grief, and a call for justice that does not end when the day does.
The red dress has become a symbol of stolen sisters and the loved ones still waiting for answers. Empty, yet full of presence.
NBCC campuses are located on Mi'kmaq, Wolastoq, and Peskotomuhkati homelands. We do not take that lightly. Today, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous students, staff, and communities, and we recommit ourselves to the ongoing work that reconciliation requires.
